Treasure Clue, can you help?

Wow! Everyone seems to be alive with new vigor, ideas, and enthusiasm!! I love the moon tree idea! I did visit the web site and founf it interesting the one of the articles says that the tree seeds out numbered the astronauts 3 to 1.

I too believe there is so much more to uncover. I am working on page 55 right now. I think the pictures are jointed together. Like the book says..."taught him the secrets of woodworking joints." I have looked up the different joints and have drawn lines where I think the pictures are pieced together, and they seen to match up from one side to the other, Now trying to fit them together...well, I'll just keep trying.

I'm going to try and get organized on all of the information tonight, by page to see if we can recognize any sort of pattern emerging.

Carol,

I agree with you about page 16. The letter before "and" looks more like a C to me and after the d in and it looks more like a 9 or a Y or a small g (a q maybe?).

I also want to say that you have an incredible eye for detail and I, for one, appreciate all your hard work and willingness to share it with all of us.

I don't always respond as I probably should to all the good posts on this forum. What happens is that I see one of your good ideas and then I'm off trying to find clues to support it in the book. BB, I thought your I80 idea was very clever, and the fact that you shared it was especially nice of you. I didn't respond to you right away because I started researching I80 rest stops as soon as I read it. Try as I might to focus on one page, as soon as I started reading the forum, I'm off to another page.

Mike has stated that when you open Kit Williams' Masquerade book you immediately hit a brick wall. He also said that he thinks we all might have hit HIS brick wall right about now. I tend to agree. It's going to take a lot of determination and hard work to get past Mike's brick wall.

It may seem that we chew on the same stuff a lot, but I think we need to dig deeper into some of the clues we already have, so it's okay by me.

I hope it's someone on this forum who finds the first token.

Yar, Mateys!

While we are looking at page 16, has anyone noticed in the N in AND there is a little orange arm going horizontally and a hand like a fist. I do not think there is a body to go with it, but, thought it a starnge place to put an arm and hand. Thought?

Jewels

Jewels , yes i do see the arm . i'm going to work on that page tonight and hopefully have something to show you all and finish a few other projects i need to do . i've got new paper and ink and i'm off.

Kstreasure , on my way to walmart to pick up supplies i looked at 86 and i can make out the 2 you spoke of? in the sunlight and cannot wait to see if i see more or if what i did see was there or having what you said on my mind. hopefully by tomorrow i'll get to it . i'm burning daylight now and so much to do . i hope others are checking into his for you also . till then , carol

HOPPPERR, thanks for your kind words and am also glad someone else sees this. also am glad to know that's a brick wall i keep hitting . carol

thanks for checking that out for me.. for a while i was starting to think i just made the whole thing up in my head. it seemed very definite to me at the time.. by the way the reason I was holding the pages up to the light was because someone mentioned something about how zac saw the forest in a "whole new light"... I'm still at work.. but I'm looking forward to working on this some more.

Since you are all talking about trees, it made me remember this so let me throw it out there and see if helps you in anyway. In the dream where it talks of a box as long as it is wide(that would be a perfect square) there are only "seven" in the book. Although many of the squares appear to be square, when measured- they are not. The only "squares" i found are on page 63 and there are "seven" and when put together spell TREE ART...
The pink T of the, The yellow R of treasure, The yellow E of treasure, The red R of reveals, The blue A of reveals, The green T of the, and the yellow E of maze.

What say you???

ok.. so I just got home and I'm looking at my book. I'm still seeing these numbers.. not quite as clear as I would hope though..

yes, I see the numbers as well. On page 31 in the border I had thought long ago there were some hidden letters in the blank squares but had the same problem...trying to see them. Unfortunately my eyes aren't the best either, just got glasses for work last year and I think now due to all this straining to see things I'll need a new pair :D

Did anyone ever go look for Pook in Oregon? Just curious ...come on all you silent readers...one of you must have?

Well, I'm going back Saturday to look at my nearest location again. After studying the book and being there I know my location is correct. We found the map for the site and are hoping to reach in and grab our prize this weekend. I'll let ya know if we do.

Patchy

I don't believe the tokens are in trees. He has said he expected the tokens to stay where they are for three years unless they were found by somebody. I took a drive through the Talladega Forest in Alabama and saw hundreds of trees that had been knocked down due to high winds. If there is a hole in a tree it usually means the tree is dead or dying. To be sure the tokens will stay in place for three years they must be in another place. Will I stop looking in trees when on a hunt, Of Course Not. Just my two cents worth.

Hello all! Sorry for being TOTALLY AWOL lately. I have not had email or internet all week at work, and the lack therof has made my job a tad bit difficult, and I have hardly had the energy to do anything once I get home at night. I have nothing new to report, and am dreadfully behind on the conversation here. And, of course, I have a full weekend ahead of me away from the computer, and another full week next where I will have little to no time to get anything accomplished on my hunt!

I need a break! ;) Please know that I've been thinking about you guys, and that while I am not posting as regularly as I was, I am still here in spirit! Jeez, now I sound like a totally dweeb! ::)

Bama, I have to agree with you on the tree thing. Due to my experiences with them along with your reason, as well as animals taking them out, wild fires, etc... Mike did say he wanted draw attention or something to certain places, which he has done. We all here have been to places we probably would have never been to, seen things that we may have never seen, due to some of the clues that he has left us. But all those clues thus far (that seem to have dead ended) have only gotten us into the woods, learning centers, national parks, off our butts, etc... which was his goal. But now the key is to finding the clues to where it really abides...

Blackbeard , i want to say you are dedicated . you went and checked every square to make sure it is a square you're as bad as i am with my tracing everything in sight . great work i liked it . i also agree with you and bama up to a point . i think putting them in tree holes is definitly not safe as you two have said , but what about all the references to tree holes and trees in general . i guess what i'm trying to get at is what are the other possibilities ? i also want to commend you on what you said about everyone getting out and learning new things . i 've wanted to say what you have said many times , but couldn't put it the way you did . i certainly would never have looked up the things i have if it weren't for this book .

KSTREASUREHUNTER, am not having great success . i'm getting a little here and there , but so far nothing definite. just when i think i'm getting something i lose it . i do believe there is something there and will keep trying . while i was staring at the box i decided to look at the rest of the picture . i've mentioned this before , but doesn't anyone find it odd the way some of the chapters such as this one the way the wording is shaped . also noticed that at the bottom of the tree where the four blades of grass are , the two on the right . right between them is the dust that rusful was spreading from the same tree on pg 20 . maybe it's been mentioned sorry if it has , but first time for me . let me know what you think . carol

Carol,

I actually scanned page 86 and opened it up in photoshop and zoomed way in.. messed around with contrasts and what not.. I am definitely seeing something there. and it looks to me like a 2. Whether or not is in intentional I can't tell. It seems strange that the brush strokes would just happen to line up so that it appears that there is a two there.. but perhaps that is what it is. I have not found any numbers in the other boxes that are near as defined as that one.

I'm going to bed.. If you would like I can send you a copy of the image I have blown up so you can see what I'm looking at.. although at this point it looks like it is probably just coincidence + wishful thinking...

Well I see I am pretty far behind in the hunt. I've been really busy lately, so I had to make an agreement with myself that i would officially "resign" from this hunt once the first token is redeemed. But until then, i search onward LOL. Anyway, I have a hunch that that two that you found in the box on page 86 may lead to a cipher key. If I am correct I will share my findings.

Yarrrrr, Mateys

I've read on another site that the controversial sub poem is a vignere cipher and is contained in the pages of Ye Nomenclature of Faeries. Actually, if you look at the spelling, it's probably the most likely place for this kind of cipher. The person claims that the key to the cipher is a four-letter word (I'm sure it's a PG four-letter word).

On another subject: Being that the first thing we all discovered was a poem, I'm thinking that Gem's idea of a poem in clue #2 is probably valid and we should maybe focus our combined intellects on that??? Maybe there's a poem in Clue #1 also?

Seacrest Out!

Hoppperr , great detective work . i also agree that the new clue has another meaning and when gemini posted her findings , even though there are some bugs to work out of it , but along those lines sounds right as being a poem . for some reason i think the new clue is a red herring in itself . sorry , but i can't help but keep thinking that he had this clue already figured out before he posted he would be putting a new clue up on 4-01. now i don't think on 3-31 he put the whole clue together and decided to post it early. that just doesn't pan out to me . so i think there is a second layer to explain this all . just my thoughts. but something is off on this and it keeps nagging at me .

If the poem is from the fairy book I highly doubt it was decoded letter by letter. There is NO WAY to take that much readable text send it through a vigenere cipher with a four letter key and come out with readable text. The main problem is there are only five vowels and too many consonants. You either start with gibberish OR end with gibberish.

It does seem like it might be a hoax perpetrated by Lyricalash. Or maybe him or her saying the key was four letters was a hoax. If you say the text of the nomenclature book isn't a good place for a vignere, I'll believe you because I don't know that much about vignere.

I just discovered something about the caption on 77. You can get "there are thirteen treasures" out of it if you use the part that was left out (lifted her). You can get "there are thirteen" without the extra words. I'm still working on it, as I just now discovered it.

Okay , i hope this comes over clear enough so everyone will know the area in the tree that i'm talking about . this is the tree next to the letter D in the word AND in the poem on pg 16. let me know what you think . carol
