Both an Archaeologist and a Metal Detector user would make you Perfect
in my opinion.

Good Luck !

I have been watching this for several days and this just seems really weird. After the 2 emails from this person there is absolutely no identification what so ever. Archaeologist16929 received a letter from them. Who is them??? This forum is mostly based on info of some sort. But there is no info on this, just a fishing trip so far. I may want to jump of a cliff for saying this later on, but a real production company that is legit would be happy to identify itself instead of remaining secret. And if someone has received a letter and they are legit, they do not have to tell who it is, but could confirm them as legit so that everyone here knows which way to go.

Earlier today I mentioned I recevied a letter from them. I copied the letter and pasted it to this post for everyone to see.

I would like to introduce myself first. I am a archaeologist in Tioga County Pa. I have over 50,000 relics from an archaeological dig in Lawrenceville, Pa. There is a webiste with many photos including one of myself, book, and a dvd that was published on my dig, all done by me and the discovery channel. So to answer your question on the treasure net website. The website is www.thecosmoresite.com On this dig there is hundreds of civil war relics and thousands of Native American artifacts. There is so many civil war relics because the railroad borders the east side of the mound. My mound is 20 miles form Elmira Ny (Civil war prison camp) They stopped here as an encampment. I have a garrett 2500 and travel all over the US treasure hunting for relics and coins. I would like to travel again soon. I teach archaeology and metal detecting to thousands of people monthly. I travel all over the US, to put on shows and tours. . Thank you..... ps........All my artifacts are housed in a state museum ran by me. I hope I am someting you may be looking for in your TV show production. Thanks again

Just to let everyone know I did receive a phone call from them yesterday. I have to send them a bio of myself to their address in canada. Has anyone else recevied a phone call?

The only time I rub-up-close to archies, is if I think I can gain some info on good sites, from them, to hunt. Yeah yeah I know, "sleeping with the enemy", but hey, those guys have some good resources sometimes  Nothing we couldn't find out on our own, if we sleuthed around enough. But for them, it's a full-time job to research history. Some of them are actually quite enamored that a passer-by is "so interested" in history :-* Gotten some reales, seateds, etc... at sites that I pursued as a result of contacts with archies.

EasyMoney if they on those "SHOWS" don't show the typical TH'er why not give this lad a chance so they get chance to see a typical TH'er?

Now if they really want to show us typical TH'ers good, fine that is ok with me.
BUT if they want to do a "Show" as the others and not show the typical TH'er then they do just at the rest a show and not a "documentary" which it then could be considered I think.

Trying the side door is not a good way to get popular I tell you.

However, to this day if I saw a professional treasure hunter doing a TV show I would really have a problem believing that he or she would be giving out any private or personal information about their treasure hunting secrets - or showing any of their valuable finds.

I agree.

If an average treasure hunter in America found a valuable item while being videoed, the whole stinking place where he was being filmed would look like a swap meet in Grand Central Station the next moring a 7AM. This is not a joke! Americans can and are often very greedy and self-centered.

Ouch! Well I'm lucky where I am there are only 2 TH'ers I know of within 10 kilometers or more.
And most Swedes do mind their own business. But it is really easy to find greedy people anywhere.

I see your point EasyMoney and the way you present it I have to agree with it all! :)

Cheers,
Eu

Regurgitating Jeff of PA's quote from up above:

Could you be any more irresponsible with your stupid make "cash BY DIGGING UP OLD BOTTLES" show? Do you have any idea what cultural resources or cultural heritage means? Old trash right? just an old privy. As a professional archaeologist I have to say that not only did you horrible show on bottle collecting exemplifies the lame "finder's keeper's mentality", it is flat out dangerous. While you might have called it "old trash" let me clue you in on something. Those are artifacts, all of the items. everything that you disturbed while looking for bottles and cash reward has been taken out of any possible historical context and is thus completely useless in providing any understanding of our collective American history. How cares about our history? Well certainly not good old Becky.

Just gave me a great idea how to save the $40.00 / mo I give to Waste Management - and it would save the archaeologists the trouble of digging my "cultural resources" up in another 75 years ! Anybody got an address I can ship my weekly load of "cultural heritage" to ???
