i don't want to turn this into a chat line but i might be the one that started we don't have that issue but for mobile homes which have heat tape....so no problem
but it still sucks in the winter here in the dakotas......but we don't have any mosquitoes anyhow...or zero bugs.............

Yeah it sucks for winter, but as long as you have a good woman to warm you up and a summer full of hunting, I would never complain. Let us not forget the guitar playing to consume the time.........Shoot i'm already at peace just writing that..........

Yeah Brent we have missed ya. You have always been a good knowledgable hunter no matter the quarry.

Been a while without a post on this sticky so I thought I woul show some candids and some fish. Walleye are from the upper Potomac and are not as big as the ones we hit in the susquehanna. But they sure made a great river side dinner. The pickerel tasted horrible. The bass are all from around home in farm ponds and a scout lake with a dam.

Ya'll making me mighty jealous with those Walleye. I can almost taste the fresh caught ones we ate for lunch on the shores of Leech Lake, Little Big Boy, Lake of the Woods and quite a few others some 4o years ago. (this was before catch and release)

Aha! New here. I thought I posted an introduction last night but do believe my sip of whiskey after work may have caused some problems :-). I've ran across this site many a time in google searches but am typically not one for an online social life. However, my friends and family are growing tired of hearing about my obsession...so I said what the heck.

I'm a native of southern WV...moved away after school for a "real" job. Chose to move back despite income as I hated that real job. Moved back to the same sleepy "holler" that I grew up in. It just so happens that holler is prime artifact hunting ground along with numerous other parts of the area. I can walk out my door and find something everyday. I'm also lucky my hubby grew up around the corner and his family has 50 acres across the "holler" that no one has lived on since the civil war days (complete with documented history and family cemetery dating to early 1800s). We garden there and here the house for a total of about 2 acres of gardens. I detest this country's food industry and grow as much as I can. I come from a long line of green thumb farming fools so its only natural. I'm not going to lie though...the 2 acres first started with my tendency to get "tractor happy" with the plow. I'm sure anyone here would do the same. I'm currently trying to convince my hubby that its good soil conservation to plow the entire thing (even though I know that's wrong and wrong of me I can't help myself ;-). I'm a nature loving hillbilly hippy. I'm a tree hugging, gun loving girl that prefers playing with power tools, chain saws and heavy equipment as opposed to shopping. (who can't be classified as one or the other in our screwed two party system so don't let the word hippy scare ya away).

More importantly I'm a lifelong rock hound who's always preferred playing in the creek as opposed to Barbie dolls and toys. I'm 35 and my pockets are still filled with rocks and various finds you'd typically find in a 8 yr old boys pocket...every day. It's only natural I came to fall in love for searching for treasure among those rocks. As a kid I found a few points but never got back into it until moving back and stumbling upon a nice piece a couple years ago. As with anything I do, I devoured the subject, reading everything I could get my hands on (how I ran into this forum). I'm addicted as my family would say and yes I admit I have a problem. Being the sarcastic person I am (early warning - don't say I didn't tell ya) I try my best to annoy them further by discussing the changes in hand tools over time. I show them everything but the nice point pieces because they see a lot of what I consider a cool artifact to be a funny shaped rock. They know I'm screwing with them...but hey sarcasm is just another service I provide that adds character to the day. Life's short and I prefer to kick "time" in the rear and have a good time. That's just how I roll. So there is a long winded introduction (another warning). Nice to see you all share my addiction. I enjoyed "meeting" you all here.
I'll look on my phone for a pic or two...or three.

Happy freaking Monday...time to go to work. Did I mention even my job is fun? I work in the outdoor adventure industry with our main focus whitewater rafting on the New and Gauley rivers? So I zip line on my lunch break....well, of course, only if I can force myself to not hike and look for points - because I'm blessed to have them right out my door at work too. I apologize in advance for gloating about my luck in regards to proximity and ancient Native American ground.

hey brandi welcome aboard
i would like to have your pictures up on this thread

And here are some photos....I'll try to post some finds when I get home from work.
