It was always tough for me to find the big stuff..3" and over. I have only a few that are. I thought it would be a great show if everyone posted the big guns. Show them off Ya'll! The first is a cypress creek at 3 5/8" ..the second is a Newman/Marion? At 3" long by 2" wide..both personal finds.. the other is from Texas and measures in right at 3"

That is a nice example of a preform, almost complete.

Here are a few of mine. I may have posted some of these before. The three in my hand were found within a foot or so of each other at the same time in a plowed field several years ago.

I cant imagine how I would feel finding those three in basically the same spot! I'm not sure I could walk off the field without help.

I found those years ago in a heavy down pour with my girlfriend (now my wife) who I talked into going with me. The field that I permission to hunt in had just been bottom plowed and I wasn't going to wait. She was mad as a wet cat about being in the rain. We had been walking for a while and picking up a few points and pieces. Then, I found the first one which I spotted from a good distance away and fully exposed, I knew I had a good one. When we walked over there and I picked the best one up, She spotted the second one on the other side of the row. Which made me quit looking at the one in my hand and I found the third one on the next row over. BTW, she don't hunt with me any more. Rain or shine.

Walked? I bet you ran, lol

This thing always terrified me as a kid, great collection piece though

It terrifies me now!! It's not a reproduction?

Nope, genuine. We've got a reproduction as well that Lithic made us (they sent it with a cool poster too) but the one in the picture is the original.

I could be way off..
But it looks like a reproduction Made of slag.

Does it look green when you hold it to the light?

I didn't notice whether it was green, I'm not an expert on anything related to arrowheads. I know that there's enough paperwork that the binder could probably kill a mammoth as well as the point, I'm not at all worried about the authenticity. We just wanted to get a couple quick pictures to put some things up, we're trying to get more info on it since the letters/conversations we have with Gramly and the labs are a bit outdated. So I guess my next question is what do you guys want to see, or have me take notes on, or take pictures of specifically? What're you interested in?

That, ladies and gentlemen, is actually the largest known Clovis, found in east central Washington state. Same basic country as the Richey (Wenatchee) cache.

RutzClovis - if that actually is the Rutz Clovis, please at least acknowledge that you can't come in here and drop and casually drop a picture or two and then move on. We'd love to see more pic's and get more info. From the picture I don't see anything to make me question anything about it, I agree that it's the Rutz Clovis. Do you own this piece? Or do you just have access to it? If you could start a new thread on the point I think we'd all love to discuss and learn about it. I'm sure there will be some boo-birds, but the vast majority of us would appreciate it.

Thanks,
Joe

Also, Pete Bostrom's site (lithicscastinglab) has a little blurb about the point and will sell you a casting of it if you're interested.

I would be very interested In speaking with the person Who actually found it. I'm sure it looks good in your collection... Congratulations on owning it.
