Four Peaks Seen As One

Howdy Geoffnotjeff,
H.C. was the one who had the book published, and it was she who chose to put "Bible" on the title, so it was up to her to verify everything she was claiming to be true. Her sources just shared with her what they were given.
It took a long time for someone to find a fault, and Bob over reacted, sending the message, "kill the messenger". Too many Dutch hunters blinded by Bob's reaction, and eager to get on his side, still can't see what happened.

Corazon De oro

I would tend to agree. One can't put blame on HC who at the time, tried to do her best in the telling of her story. The intentions there I believe were good intentions and an Author can only get things right, if the source is willing to uphold the truth as they know it and at times, the Truth can be elusive.

What follows is the best sight-line I can obtain using Google Earth that shows "four peaks seen as one." This sight-line extends westward from the sight-line in my original post and which connects Browns Peak with Weavers Needle. My "best" sight-line disregards Weavers Needle and only follows a compass heading from Browns Peak that will show all four peaks lined-up as one. That compass heading is 193 degrees from Browns Peak. Your results will vary.

This "best" sight-line agrees with Idahodutch's sighting of "four peaks seen as one" above Needle Canyon where it runs eastward from Boulder Canyon, and is also in agreement with what is written in the Holmes Manuscript concerning directions to the LDM. I give no credence to the Holmes Manuscript as a whole, but it could contain a small amount of factual content.

……
Skyhawk,
I have also come to the conclusion that parts of the Holmes Manuscript, are true and accurate.

The directions from the manuscript …. “First Water” to “2nd Water” … etc, can get a person to a viewing spot by matching up the landmarks, in the order given.

Maybe time will tell, if the viewing spot that was found, is the one the manuscript, AND the German clues spoke of …. or not. 🤓

Bassfish -- I used the link I provided and it seemed that all chapters that I selected from the drop-down index were completely readable, and specifically the chapters on the mine and the German Clues. When I clicked on the preview button on the page, then only selected pages were available for reading. I was mainly interested in the Holmes Manuscript and the German Clues. If using the link and drop-down index doesn't work for you, I can't recommend any way to read the entire book online.

Here are Google Earth 3D images viewing from the high point of a ridge above Peters Canyon. Four Peaks are seen as one from that location, and in an opposite direction Weavers Needle is seen on the horizon. It's interesting to note that a saddle is passed on the way to that high point, and to get there anyone traveling south in Peters Canyon must backtrack north along the ridge.

The Mntn with the x on it Ive posted before is on the next high point to the north. If you look at previous yr in google earth, you will see it.

Good morning. Skyhawk1251 could you send a picture of the location where you took these two pictures from google earth on a topo map? Cordially, Gregory E. Davis

4 Peaks Seen as 1? Perhaps a different take.

All photo cred. to Christina. She's a Treasure to the Superstation's and their LONG history.

I believe the 4 peaks needs to be seen as one peak (an illusion if you will), to be a correct clue and location.

Very sorry about the delay in replying, Mr. Davis. I had a problem connecting to the forum, due to an issue with my ISP and their DNS server.

The place where the Google Earth 3D images can be viewed, showing Four Peaks as one and Weaver's Needle in the opposite direction, is the high point on a ridge above Peter's Canyon. That high point is found on my Horse Mesa topo map in the extreme lower left corner. My topo map is not detailed enough to exactly pinpoint that high point, so I will add more Google Earth images here to simplify things.

In the first image, I've connected Brown's Peak with Weaver's Needle using a yellow line. The high point on the ridge is marked with a red star slightly off the yellow line to its right.

The second image is a wide-angle view showing the high point marked with a red star. Canyon Lake is seen upper left.

The third image shows Peter's Canyon in the center. To access the high point on the ridge traveling south in Peter's Canyon, the arroyo is exited to the left at the lowest red dot. Then, the red dots are followed up the ravine to the high point. A saddle is passed on the way to the high point. Elevation of the high point is 3,775 feet.

What exactly is the 4 peaks clue ? How is it worded, and who supposedly said it? Because I’m thinking we might be over thinking it.

I would say all the clues to the Dutchman have been over thought. Most think the LDM is way in there - deep in the Supes, but that's the farthest from the truth. Jacob never walked that far. As for the 4 Peaks, they need to be seen as one peak collectively and line up with Weaver's Needle - to be in a correct area in order to find the mine.

Below is one of the versions from the Holmes Manuscript. I heard that there are (4) versions, but I have only seen (2) of them. 👍
