Gold dredging in california

Here's a link to a good treatise on Oregon water rights from a lawyer who specializes in water law:

Downdeep,

Is there a possibility that you could cross train into a field that is safe from the axe. I suppose you could say I was involuntarily cross trained during my AF career when they combined career fields and I was reassigned from radar to sat. comm.. Quite a few were pulled out of the early SLBM tracking system and put in the sat. (spy sat.) system after the first combining before they put a shred out on our AFSC's. Then after the second combining I got nabbed for the sat. sys.

Good article - good reference.

Trouble with laws is that, they can be changed. Its a very good idea to keep an eye on your particular state's pending laws. (as well as the Fed, because, the feds like to trump the states. They do it under the guise of "Environmental" (EPA). This includes things like wetlands, water pollution, etc.

These guys are .......... worse the any state, imo.

I like to look into the Federal Register every once in awhile to see what laws they are trying to pass that we know nothing about. Actually, they comply with the "letter of the law", by putting it in the Federal Register (notifying us, legally), but, since most of us don't keep an eye on such things, we don't get to "comment", and then we get screwed. Luckily, most of the states have folks who do just that - look everyday into the Federal Register. (hey, at least they are good for something).

The site that "explains" how our Feds control our water. There are many sections.

thankyou Beth for this link! ive added it to my favorites to use as referance. seems like these socalled "representatives" of ours like to twist and turn things to get what they want, or should i say, paybacks for the support from the wacoenviromentalists thatll squezze the life out of everyone/everything untill they get their lies included into some laws! id like to know why some non-voted on people get to dictate to our voted on legislators on what they want instead of our voted on legislators doing their job they were voted on to do! most bills arent written by our voted on legislators. nope they are written by lobbiests that include loopholes for their interest and our socalled "representatives" dont even realize what they then sponsor, as "their bill" what the heck is in it! and then we have bills voted on by the party in power ,and they dont know whats in it either. and you just have to wonder how our Country made it this far??? i say, block ALL lobbiests and make these socalled "representatives" of ours comeup with and write their own bills to elliminate these loopholes that benifit the greedy!

Great read!!

All the best,

Lanny

Thank's for you service DownDeep. We sure need to get the politicians out of the military, in more ways than one. :icon_scratch:

actually we ,as a nation, need to get these guys out of politics for the wellbeing of our people and our nation! theyve done more to mess things up as political partys than any war! these jerks fight between partys and dont get the job done that they are voted in to do! they need to think of our Country and Her people instead of theyre partys benifit! remeber, they work for us, not the other way around like they are doing!!

I concur Russau, we are in for a lot of hurt if things don't turn out for us in 2012. :icon_scratch:

the truth needs to get out to every American wayyyyyyyyyyyy before this coming election in order to defeat these socalled "representatives" that we voted into office! the people and our great Country are a prioity instead of "their" party!

IMO its to late. The damage is done. The GREED of our (to much ) government has destroyed this country.

Yep,the damage is done, lets cut education, yea, thats it cripple our future generation even further. They will already be financially in debt, might as well make em stupid too, another way to control "The people"

In tonights debate there was a lot of talk about visa's for smart people, but that's not the answer, the answer is to start stressing the sciences in school and not politics. My youngest granddaughter say her history teach thinks these "occupy" morons are right, this dingbat should be taken out behind the wood shed and have his face rearainged.

Speaking of learning, I learned something last night from a link to as video that Gary Goldberg of Prospectors United sent me. When I watched it the hair on the back of my neck, amongst other things, stood up. This is another question to ask a congressman or senator running for reelection, do you support sustainable living or agenda 21? If they yes ask them why they support handing over of our country to UN socialists. After watching the vid I whipped out a letter and sent to the Currie Coastal Pilot, haven't heard from them yet, they support shutting down the Chetco River.

The link is in the letter which follows.

To the Publisher and Editor,

In regards to the planned shut down of the Chetco to miners and other property abuses which I’m sure you’re aware of I thought you might be interested in this video. When I viewed it flames began rising behind my eyes and my fists began to tighten. As a retired USAF noncom I must say that I didn’t serve my country for twenty years to have it turned over to an organization run by foreign socialists to have their way with.

Our government was planned and brought into being as a representative republic, we the people are the government and the the lands not owned by private citizens or corporations is public land, it’s our property, to use and enjoy within within certain minimal restrictions. If you pay close attention to the map they show with the few population centers, the rest of the land, the vast majority, is restricted for the government use only. This must never ever happen, but the closing of the Chetco, first to the miners, and later to everyone is the first step in the plan.

If you journalists, a time honored profession, you will confront the BLM & USFS and for that matter the environmental groups pushing for the closure with this and ask them point blank if this is their plan for the future of this country.

Gramps,

While, I agree with you 1000% about how our constitutional rights are being sabotaged - by the article which you posted, and many other means, I have to say that, you cannot complain about our bill of rights being screwed with, and then say in the same sentence that someone else's views, besides yours - makes them moron's. (ie, the teacher and the 99%), and they shouldn't have the right.

The right to redress is also guaranteed by our bill of rights, and many of those folks that are part of the "movement" are vets, teachers, scientists, mothers, fathers and business owners. There is a big difference between our own citizens "taking it to the streets" and another country trying to dictate what we will and will not do.

Unfortunately, we have many corrupt politicians, on all sides of the aisle (it isn't just one sided), who are willing to let others control such things as our public lands, etc.

We are also responsible. For more than one reason. One - and a big one - is that, we want to control our neighbors. Its just a fact of life. I don't care who you are, at some point, we complain that so-and-so shouldn't be playing their music so loud when we have to sleep, or their big house restricts our views of the mountains, or their old junk car is ruining our property values (ad nauseum). It was a slippery slope when we started doing that - you - me - almost everyone - wants to live their lives their own way, but don't want something they disapprove of, living next door to them. And, here we are.

That said - our rights have been slowly eroded for years, and now it is picking up speed. The Supreme Court, in finding that a state could "take" a property, and sell it to a private corporation, because the extra tax revenue was "for the common good" was one of the worst things that has happened in the last few years.

Also, the Feds and the states are all talking about selling our public lands, for revenue purposes - something we don't seem to have any control over (as citizens).

Another thing that really hurt our "rights" was the dammed Free Trade Agreement. In fact, we took a huge tumble when THAT was voted in, we just didn't realize how much at the time.

On a more personal note, I live at the edge of a little town, kind of on the poor side, when the big railroads left, so did the town's money - yet, they will tell you when to cut your grass, when you can dump your garbage, how high your grass has to be - pay for a "permit" to put up a fence, pay a ridiculous amount for a building permit (just the one permit was over 1200 bucks), and now, the newest thing, is to re-draw our political lines so that we vote with the Native American reservation, and, get this one - they HAVE to have an 80% majority. ????? WTH???

As if that wasn't bad enough, we are in the middle of a huge lawsuit with that particular reservation, because we are on THEIR black hills land.

Seems fair, huh? Going to meetings - one right after the other, is really getting expensive and time consuming, and we haven't won anything yet.

I disagree. Do away with the DOE and turn education back over to local communities. This was an error that Carter made. Then Govco doesn't have the power to say what to teach. It will also keep the money at home instead of going to Washington first to be laundered by the teacher's unions and then "some" of it being sent back. The only reason prayer was removed from school is because Govco became the sole decision maker. The heck with what communities wanted or the local needs.

I agree with you unfortunatly there is no "local",money and the Gov is stripping the money that we pay in tax's so the bottom line is the kids are suffering!
On another note, does anybody else see the military cuts as a way for the U.N to provide our protection and become one step closer to full UN control?

Beth,

I didn't say that they didn't have the right to free speech or redress of grievance but their grievances were for the most part moronic. Nothing has kept them from getting a job save for their own misconceptions about the job market. No one is going to give them a job straight out of college with a grade record or a work record, my son worked while he was in school, which singles them out as a potential good hire.

A case in point is my son, the accountant, as I said he worked in the computer lab helping other students with any problems they were having. He spent a semester in Denmark taking studies there; he went to job fairs held to acquaint students with potential employers. He interned with the company that later hired him and last but not least he broadened his knowledge base by spending a 5th yr. in school. He graduated with two BS degrees, one in accounting and one in IT. The firm he works for offered a job at above normal starting salary and has made his mum & dad very proud of him.

A very good percentage of the "morons" took degrees in totally worthless subjects and then expected to walk into a 50K a yr. job, ain't gona happen. And last but not least Wall Street had nothing to do with they're getting a job, that falls on people like Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid and the incompetent dweeb in the White House. When George Bush wanted to investigate Fanny & Freddie Barney Frank jumped up and said there's nothing wrong with F & F they are just fine and then when the bubble burst. Then we find out that the feds were forcing banks to make loans to people who had no way of paying for them.

Barak Obama is a hard left Socialist and feeds off this unrest and further uses it to try and convince the public he has the answers. He has nothing but the Marxist clap trap that learned in college and that has been proven not to work numerous times throughout history.

As far as occupying the parks etc. that should never been allowed to happen, they should have been told that had the daylight hours of one day to chant their chants and wave their signs and then they are to be gone. If they didn't disperse they should have been rounded up processed and be served their 30 day sentence for disturbing the piece. If you think that is harsh think of what is going on in Syria right now. Yes they have a right to protest in a civilized and law abiding manner; if they are gassed or maced it's their own damn fault they were warned.
