Huntin in 2013

Picked up $160 in MWR of dimes + $40 in MWR of nickels yesterday.

The dimes gave up one Roosie: 1954.

The nickels gave up four keepers, two dateless buffaloes and two war nickels:

1942P
1943P

One of the dateless buffaloes was a reverse ender, the other dateless buffalo and one of the war nickels was found in that same roll.

I found a columbian exposition wayyyy before a barber...

They seem to be fairly common, cause a few weeks after I found mine, I went to the LCS, and they had 1892/93 expositions for 12$ a pop, in AU/BU condition! I picked up one of each. This was when silver was under 20$

It sure is one interesting find in a roll of coins tho! heck yah

Yah Ive only found that 1 ender a month or so back... still amazing it was an ender lol... that was after 600 boxes for the year. they sure are hard to find! lol.

I found a barber quarter from MD, sold it for 28 bucks :P

Picked up a box of dimes yesterday, it gave up two Roosies:

1963
1964

Picked up a box of dimes yesterday, it gave up one silver: 1943 Mercury.

Went out with $2 today on my lunch break. Picked up a roll of nickels, skunked.

Dumped the nickels, found two keepers in the reject tray:

1940 Washington
1964 Roosie

When the machine printed my ticket out, it read: $3.38.

A little silver + $1.38 for free, nice!

Went out again with only $2. Picked up a roll of nickels, skunked.

Dumped the nickels, found a dollar bill inside of the machine. 8-)

Also found a keeper in the reject tray: 1942 Mercury dime.

When the machine printed my ticket out, it read: $2.89.

Again, a little bit of silver + $1.89 for free!

Nice man! You're killing it with them overages... what would happen if you dumped $200 worth of nickels, would you generally still get the $0.89 free because change was left inside the machine or is it just counting as an overage?
I once found a $2 bill in the coin machine... kinda odd.

It's all because of change left in the machine by previous people dumping, whether in the reject tray, the chute leading to the tray, or in the actual machine itself.

It definitely pays to know how much you're dumping into the machine. When I get shorted, I'll pull out the metal hopper thing and 98% of the time I'll see coins of mine that didn't get counted for whatever reason. I'll just hit "GO" again and run the machine and print another ticket out. For the other 2%, it is coins that got rejected.

People who are just dumping random change most likely haven't counted it out, so they don't know if they are getting shorted or not. Which obviously benefits me.

I'm just shy of eight ounces of silver found through various reject trays this year so far.

Last year I found a little over eight ounces from various reject trays.

I'm hoping to at least beat last year, but I'm shooting for ten ounces from the reject trays.

Love that FREE silver, beats getting it at face value and lowers my DCA by quite a bit. 8-)

Thats pretty sweet, 8 oz of free silver! niceeeeee.

I have only found 2 pieces of free silver, one of them was yesterday, a 1918 half crown! very cool!

So I went to the bank and got 4 boxes of dimes. I went through them and found no silver. I also went though 3 boxes of halves and found 1 40%.

Is this bad luck or normal?

I was thinking about 1 dime per box would be normal and maybe 1 silver half per 2 boxes of halves

My longest skunk streak for halves was 30 boxes.

My longest for dimes was six boxes.

The universe ebbs and flows, it's just the nature of the game.

Picked up a box of halves today on my lunch break, snagged six 40%ers:

1966
1967
1968D x 3
1969D

Picked up two boxes of halves today. One was a skunk, the other gave up one 40%er: 1968D.

So far this year I've found 64.89 ozt.

Last year I found a total of 34.84 ozt.

Only 4.79 ozt to go until I reach my goal of doubling last year's total.
