To return a fallen soldier to his family is a very rewarding and honorable thing to do. I applaud your efforts and I hope you find many more. Russian, German, American does not matter; they were all fighting for their country in their hearts.

Gruesome! Are they Nazi soldiers graves?

I think they are foxholes. They will be put in proper grave, thanks to nahabit and friends.

Wow.....very interesting photos. Don't know how I'd feel coming across those guys. But I agree that they deserve a proper burial and notification to their families. I would want to know that my ancestor was recovered and returned home after a very long war. Those guys have been keeping their posts all this time!

Thanks for sharing the pics with us.

Happy Hunting,
Moon

Great pictures! You can see the PPSH41 barrel jackets and drum magazines!

I own a PPSH 41, yes its licenced. Bullets are kind of hard to find here, but I do shoot it.

hey nahabit, how often do you and your friends come across war dead? is it on every expedition, or only sometimes? i find it fascinating that you guys find so many soldiers. there must be thousands of men that are still missing in action.

Morning Nahabit: Very good photos. The world needs to see more photos of what war is really like. Our war pictures in the US, except for a few exceptions, are very sanitized -- cleaned up. Everyone dies a nice clean quick death in our movies except for the hero, who generally has time to say good bye.

From my part, post more! They do not shock me since I have seen worse, but perhaps some should be shocked!.

nahabit, I wish I could dig with you. Very interesting. Keep up the good work.
Who owns the land that you are digging on?
Do you need permission?

Just conversation. But you are probably right. They probably don't have as many lawyers or lawsuits. Only in America. :D

The only way you can achieve justice for these SOLDIERS is to document everything! They paid the highest price and it is more sacred than a cemetary. These were our fathers, our brothers our kin. No better praise than for their names to be uttered again! God bless them!
