Prospector Shot on his own land - trying to mow!

What I plan to do is not premeditated anymore than a Guard working at a Bank or high end Jewelry Store or for Brinks Armored Car Service! I only plan to protect and defend Terri, Steve and Tabitha so that they can get along with their lives and not be in fear. If the felon decides to shoot at any of us, I will only return fire in defense of Terri's, Steve's and Tabitha's lives as well as my own. Besides, a few well placed, non-life threatening shots can usually go a long way in deterring further attempts by the perp to harm Terri, Steve, Tabitha or myself!

Frank

Be careful. The perp getting away with multiple felonies, doing little to no jail time for things that anywhere else would get you 10+ years. Law is on his side for some reason. They might not arrest him (felon in possession of a firearm, easy to prove..) but they might harass you. Oath keepers are ex police, fire and military. They are not thugs. There are attorneys in the Oath Keepers. They protect, not provoke.

this may be another reason for the delay.
Perhaps his Lawyer is so Good,
Or he has the Judge in his pocket, So they are Dotting all the I's this time around
hoping for something that will stick.

Sure that is possible. But a meth head felon with a record from hell. He can't be that good of snitch!! Family in high positions? Sure....
If I did half of what this ()*&^$#@@#$%^ has done...and will continue to do...I would have an accident! My family would say....enough is enough. And I would agree.

Restraining order should be in effect?
Communication with local authorities established and a reason given for no arrest and jail?
Shoot someone and go untouched?
Strange . And the victim is supposed to just carry on.
Glad I'm not there waiting for what's going to happen next.
Something is wrong enough to warrant intervention so authorities are called with no conclusion or diffusing of the situation. Check.. I would be seeking back up until it gets resolved for dang sure.
It would not be me delivering the bills accrued so far so who will?
What possible reason can be given to expect a threat to a families lives to not exist?
I don't want to personally know what it's like living like that but it would be unacceptable to expect no defense from me.
Yes I would question the authorities before calling for back up, but they still need to be there in an ACTIVE civil duty roll.
Without that, sitting on my hands the next time is not going to be the result regardless of the outcome.
That's not John Wayne talkin, that's staying alive .
A bullet can cause a lot of problems and already has. No need for another unless self defense is understood, but I'm not the one shot waiting for the next one.
Got to sleep sooner or later, somehow.
Swing your fist all you want but that ends an inch from my nose.
It's been broke before and anyone will pay dearly to do it again.
What would it be like having been shot out of the blue by a nearby resident, with no law intervention to remedy the situation; if it was me?
I would be armed at least. Anyone not want to be armed in that situation, that's fine too.
Just not for me.

I just don't see how this guy is still a free man. He's either buddies with the local LE or he's a snitch who's ratting out the competition for the cops. No way should he have walked away from a lot of those charges.

I said that before it sure seems that way. That or he's not worth taking down at the moment because it would compromise a larger operation that's taken a lot to put together. Seems that DEA has more swing than a LE street level, but who knows.

When I was operating a scrap business there was a perp that seemed to always be out walking the streets even if he got busted, always a good story, and always trying to be in with others it seemed and then they went down they stayed down. So one day I'm sitting at the traffic lights in the truck and the LE drives by with this perp sitting in the back seat of the cruiser smoking a cig. like he was royalty. Well a few days after that it was busy in the yard and the perp comes in all friendly and trying to get into the chat with others. I openly asked him what he got pulled in for, and when does the cops let a perp smoke in the cruiser? He looked stunned and blurted out some BS I asked the others when they get busted how often do they get to have a smoke in the cruiser? Well it went down hill quickly from there as I just looked at the guys looking at this perp and I said I think it's time that you left the yard you :censored:rat. Well I saw the perp a while later busted up good, a few less chiclets, and not looking so cocky. Sometimes the street has a way of taking care of it's own dirt.

I understand fully and plan to be very careful if I am needed to go there! I am a veteran of the U.S. Army, was an Armorer (Weapons Specialist) besides having other MOS', can shoot most things at close to a mile and have the equipment to do it, if the need ever arises. While standing guard at night, I plan to be in full camouflage and will likely be wearing my' Ghilly Suit. The perp will likely be unable to see me in the dark unless he has Night Vision gear. I may even pickup the Smith & Wesson Bodyguard Vest that they have at a local Pawn Shop here which appears brand new. Also, I don't plan on provoking the perp but he will likely see me while I am at Terri's, Steve's and Tabitha's home.

Frank

hey frank dont forget the mower LOL

Frank you are too good of a man. After what he's already done, it is too scary. I don't want you to get hurt. I'm hoping that this will be taken care of by the Sheriff tomorrow, I doubt it, but I sure hope so. I'll give you a ring as soon as we know something tomorrow. If the Sheriff does his job, We can go rockhounding, etc.... so get your tail on down for some fun with friends (as soon as it's safe)....

Terri, Steve and Tabitha,

Once I have shipped the last remaining items sold/selling on eBay and if nothing has been resolved, I will load up and be on my way there, that is, if you all are okay with it. If the Over-Sheriff or whatever he is called there and/or the head Investigator has taken no action by mid-week of this coming week and no one with the Oath Keepers has showed up, then I will be traveling there, if it is okay with you all. You all have lived in fear long enough without any actions from the local LE and it is long past the time to put the fear of God in this felon! That does not mean that I will go after him. It just means that I will make my presence known, that I am armed and that I will be guarding you all whether coming or going or taking care of yard work which includes mowing. If the felon, decides to take shots at you all or me at any time, then in defense, he will be met by a barrage of return fire.

Frank

I'll call later today Frank. I'm suppose to close on my property sale this week, Bonnie has a heart doctor appointment also (Wed.) and today I think I'll have EVERYTHING emptied in the old shop to the new one! With nothing else popping up or being delayed I'll meet ya there. I'll spring for a room a couple of nights. I'll throw in the 300 mag. just to make some real noise!!!!

You'll get some help.

After taking a close look at this guy's long list of offenses, it seems he was never actually convicted of a felony and has never done "state time". He has been arrested once or twice with felony charges and he had one of them overturned post conviction. One or two others were either thrown out or reduced to a lessor charge (not uncommon). He appears to be more of a local nuisance than anything else. As far as working as a CI for whatever agency, I highly doubt it. This guy is nothing but a local p.o.s., white trash, drug abuser who can't pay his bills because of his habits. He has been legally evicted several times. He even has one for stealing electricity. He has had several drinking related charges, be it open container or drunk in public. One possession of marijuana, one possession of crack, one possession of meth but these were older cases before the laws were amended and the penalties made stiffer. A few driving on a suspended's. He has had a couple ccw charges that are misdemeanors in the state of S.C.. The cops pulled him over once and he ended up with a seat belt violation, so I don't think they are in cahoots with this clown. At least not on a department level. I'm hoping they are just taking their time with this guy so that they can put him away for a few years in state prison for once, where he belongs. Looking forward to how this fiasco eventually turns out.

This man LIVES within 150 yds. of their home. WHY WOULD LAW ENFORCEMENT NOT PULL A SEARCH WARRENT IMMEDIATELY UPON THE PROPERTY AND/OR JUST SEARCH? They, him/her were the ONLY one's upon ridge when then 3 shots were fired. So are you saying this guy is not a felon....? Should he be able to legally possess a firearm???

QUESTION: Is this man a convicted felon or not...? I'm not a lawyer and/or a interpreter of all public records. CAN HE LEGALLY POSSESS A FIREARM....????????????????

Even if he CAN...? It CHANGES nothing as far as Steven being shot on his own damn property. So what is it?????????????????

The our attorney, and Sheriff Crimshaw himself left our Oconee property a little while ago. We were able to voice our concerns about the goings on with LE so far, as well as show him the crime scene, etc. He brought in forensics too. Looks like it could have been a high powered Pellet gun instead of a 22 rifle. We still don't have the bullet out of Steve's leg though. Could a pellet gun actually puncture tires, or go through a calf muscle, and flatten at the bone? I don't care what type of gun he used; He needs to be behind bars; Just wondering, if it is a pellet gun, what kind of pellet gun could do so much damage?

The Sheriff seemed sympathetic, but gaurded. He also said they were bringing the THUG in for a lie detector test... Though I don't know what good that'll do since it isn't admisable in court. We'll see.

I also asked him about the case where the perp killed a woman, and gets 24 months home incarceration with involuntary MS as the plea bargain... NO JAIL TIME! He said he was not happy about that at all.
My opinion is this... ALL corruption, complacency, incompetence in the Solicitor's office and the Sheriff's office it needs to be dealt with By outside investigators. Way too many strange things they're letting people walk for... Way too many. I'm shocked by what's been going on here. I am very aware of plea bargains and how they are used, but that was Horse Poop... And for that Solicitor's office to put out a press release divuldging lewd things about the murder victim in an attempt to make their failure to do their job OK, took a sick and twisted mind to do... SHAME ON THEM. Trashing the victim of a murder, and letting the Murderer go... THAT IS JUST SICK!

I think that Sorry office put out that crud in their press release for one reason, to put a murder victim on trial while letting their informant, dealer, family member, blackmailer, or whatever he is, walk after killing someone! WOW, I don't know any of those people, but how dare that Solicitor's office do such a dispicable thing! I know that the victim was likely not the best person, but she didn't kill herself...

There are pellet guns that can shoot through a sheet of 1/2" plywood easily ... I own one. 1200 FPS, and only 100 bucks. looks like a big rifle, but shoots .177 pellets.

... and mine isn't one of the stronger ones.

i guess i didnt finish the well dam
im thinking drug court, got the guy off of jail time, even though a person died

Adult Drug Court An Adult Drug Court Program offers an alternative for those persons whose crimes are the result of their drug addiction. Defendants who wish to participate in the program will be required to plead guilty in court and they will be sentenced. The judge will suspend or transfer the sentence to the 18 month program. Failure to complete Drug Court will result in completion of the sentence within the S.C. Department of Corrections. Successful completion of Drug Court results in the sentence being satisfied. The 18 month program consists of case management, random drug screens, and regular court sessions to monitor progress while undergoing weekly outpatient counseling sessions. The cost of the program will be paid by the participants. Failure to comply with the requirements of the program could result in longer or more intense treatment, community service work, or jail time. Consistent non-compliance will result in unsuccessful termination from the program. All participants must maintain full employment throughout the duration of the program.

Drug Court is an opportunity for persons whose drug addiction has led to criminal behavior to change their lives and become productive members of the community.

Yeah right? Not to mention the husband said he heard 2 shots, then the 3rd hit him in the leg. I don't know too many pellet guns that can be heard over a running tractor, blade disengaged or not. I'll take back my last post giving the sheriff's dept. the benefit of the doubt. I believe they are just a bunch of incompetent hicks with a lack of proper training and a possible Barney Fife yellow streak going down their backs..

im not up on pellet air rifles, just asked my neighbor, he says he has to be at least
within 75 feet or less to penetrate deep on the ground chucks, squirrels birds are
a little easier
this guy at you tube has some good vids using air rifles
