The Captain Kidd Treasure Maps and Oak Island

Let's see .
A: there's no flock save in your vivid imagination.
And B : how many ways can a casual interest in forgery reproduce a signature? Let alone merely initials or a cartouche.
Who hired the authority that determined pencil (Lead? Carbon?Graphite?) traces were involved?
Was watermarked material chosen for it's ability to trace? Or were we amusing ourselves with onion skins again?
By 1803 Hawkins had mechanical means of duplication down to an art.( No not Jim Hawkins. Rather John Isaac.) When were the maps you tout "rediscovered"? Ahh 1929-34. The era of robot pin & attendant "signature mold" /grooved plate method. (Who created that and when precisely? Let's hope no forgeries were involved.)
Coincidence of maps being found when mechanical means of copying were becoming more practiced? Or just timely furniture acquisitions?
Hired furniture curators, authenticators, alleged historians and handwriting analysts must have had many field days.
Allow me to make haste and hire a signature authority to tell me if an accurate copy on watermarked parchment is real or not.... That will clear up the intended collaboration of the nefarious ambitions of Kidd/Palmer &Co. Inc. L.L.C. nonprofit stolon precious metals refinery fencing operations on any island being true. Let alone on Oak island maps that aren't really Oak Island ; but they still could have collaborated because no one has proven they didn't so it must be so.

Then there is C: Any pirate captain foolish enough to sign off on a document regarding a secret trove or mint of fencing operations isn't much a pirate. It is worth a wager that any who did didn't feel a deck afoot again ever after. At least per evidence.
That would be like bank robbers promoting upcoming events on the tattler rags/gossip papers front page.

Hi releventchair, I have no interest at all in pencil marks presumably drawn on fake maps or water marks. My sole interest is confined to the China Sea Map and the Deadman Island map which as far as I am concerned are genuine, and the latter was drawn, dated and signed by Captain William Kidd, and I deciphered both maps in 2003.
There are other maps that contain evidence that they were drawn by William Kidd or John Ware but I will only reveal this if and when I am ready to.
I have tried to steer people in the right direction but if they don't want to pursue that route that's up to each person, I cannot help people with blinkered vision or have an ulterior motive to criticise something that spoils their own theory.

Irrespective of the various protest from nay sayer's Captain William Kidd did if fact draw, date, and sign the Deadman Island map, so researchers with open minds should start their research from that point and just follow my lead , and totally ignore anyone who argues with that course of action. Some people simply love to play the devils advocate for fun and to impress the flock and sometimes its just because they crave a feeling of importance.
I could reveal real secrets but what would be the point, whatever I said on this forum would be attacked so I pass on that option.

yOU DCeciphered.

One would think if Oak Island Sage had "deciphered" or solved these maps 23 years ago - a single scholar would have paid him attention by now. The same goes for CapnGeorge who published his books on the maps in 1996 and 2016. Their books have zero academic citations; no scholars have ever reviewed their books and they have never submitted a manuscript for peer-review to be scrutinised. This speaks for itself.

What's better than a map being deciphered without the cartographer stating it required such?

Honestly there it isn't much fun to beat a dead horse. It is more then obvious to anyone sane where this is going: nowhere.

Hi
yOU DCeciphered.
Hi releventchair, yes that's correct, :icon_thumright: and I am also the only one who has a 90% chance of recovering the treasure of Oak Island now. Now what's your brilliant contribution that tops my achievements? Have you been to Oak Island no! then pass along please I have no time to waste on trivial pursuits like trying to convince people like you.🥱

You can't alter the fact that all the info required is in the books. And for those in denial who say there is no evidence, how is it that the Webb letters to Anson show the Pinaki location which correspond to the monument's decyphering of the same figures? I didn't make any of it up, it's all there in black and white. And oh, by the way, strange that Wilkins clues give the same answer isn't it? You just hate it that these are the facts and hardly a coincidence. Like I said, I didn't make any of it up. If you opened your eyes, you might see it too.
Don't think I've seen your books anywhere!!

There is no evidence Cornelius Patrick Webb existed and the "Webb letter(s)" are an obvious fabrication. Show me Webb's birth or death certificate/burial registry or a single naval record that verifies his existence or any authenticated historical document that mentions him. You fail to do that in your book. You keep saying "I didn't make any of it up" when virtually your whole book is making it up. Bizarre. Anyone who searches for information on the internet about Webb will only find a few pseudohistory blogs written by conspiracy theorists such as the website The Great Lost Treasure. If Webb was a genuine captain, why do no naval records mention him? Furthermore, the so called "Webb letter(s)" have no verifiable provenance. Why do no literary sources mention the letter(s), until the last few decades by conspiracy theorists? You also present no reliable evidence in your book Wilkins drew the Kidd-Palmer maps and ignore all the contradictory evidence he did not, for example, we know from the Wilkins-Palmer correspondence (see Gjb) that it was not Wilkins who wrote the letters signed Dan Morgan, supposedly sent to Arthur Hill-Cutler. Wilkins had no knowledge of the Morgan letters until Palmer showed him a transcript of the letters.

Edit: if you search "Cornelius Patrick Webb" on Google Scholar you get zero mentions. Unsurprisingly, historians are not writing about a person there is not a shred of evidence was real.

Hi Cryptid1990, for your information I am the only person who in 2002 against the odds got two feuding Oak Island treasure hunters Dan Blankenship and Frederick Nolan to agree to work together on my treasure recovery project based on my research and that my English backers were funding. So what went wrong you may ask, the third big player David Tobias who was the President of the Trident Alliance Company said no because quote "I didn't ask him first", and also because I did not have a degree, that is pure academic snobbery, that probably constitutes the real Curse of Oak Island.

The Deadman Island map was definitely drawn, dated and signed by Captain William Kidd in 1699, nothing you or anyone else is ever going to change that, you can attack the map, and smear the Late Mr Wilkins, Mr Snow, and myself but the simple fact is this Ollie, you are so wrong about many things, but can you face the embarrassing prospect of one day finding that out and loosing face.

When I say I have deciphered the maps it refers to the sufficient amount of vital information that I discovered contained on both maps that will I'm 95%v sure lead to the recovery of the great Oak Island treasure. This could be via the "loading Shaft", and through the long "Access Tunnel that ends at the subterranean "Repository" (see CAD)
This covert facility is filled with a huge accumulation of treasure brought there by several people including Captain William Kidd, and possibly the Knights Templar. The present treasure hunters of the Cerca Trova company have received my last offer, it was to help them for nothing, the jury is out that and I'm not chasing them any more..
If I do ever get the call Ollie then be prepared to be proved beyond all possible doubts that you are/were wrong about the Deadman Island Map, and that Captain William Kidd did draw, date and sign it. Somehow I rather doubt that you would concede the point even if the treasure was recovered and put on public display in the Halifax Museum, not really your style is it.

Hi CapnGeorge, it's no good talking common sense and simple logic to someone like Cryptid1990, apparently he doesn't have any need to ever employ those trifling requirements himself. :laughing7:

How exactly do you expect to acquire permission to turn even a single shovel of dirt? Not that you would.
You've already demonstrably been handed your hat once on the island.

Until you have a signed lease allowing such you're are a wee bit more than 90% odds of not even starting a potential recovery. Let alone the chance of a recovery.
You do have a signed lease allowing excavations to support your 90% chance claim? Cover up Kidds and your initials and go ahead and show the permission.
Else wise no 90% chance and just another false claim on your behalf..

My presence there is required to insist Kidd didn't sign any map ; let alone a map of Oak Island?
You should grab a napkin , your jelly is sliding of your biscuit again.

I'm not showing you anything; do your own search. Anson ensured his expedition was secret. Do you know what SECRET means? It means there is no reference to anyone or anything. By the way, were you not going to have authoritative words with Lord Litchfield? What did he have to say? Also, why not have a word with Bernard Keiser, who has spent millions on his search for treasure on Juan Fernandez Island. Ask him about the Webb letters, and tell us what he says. While you are at it, have a word with the family on JFI that holds the letters, and tell us what they say! You are so quick to cast aspersions. Let's see how quick you are at getting those letters off!
The only positive evidence that Wilkins drew the maps would be his own confession or somebody looking over his shoulder whilst he drew them. You obviously have not seen his 'Postcard sketch' where he clearly states - 'but not as on my chart'. I suppose you are going to tell everyone now it wasn't his postcard! And anyway, anyone with any sense knows Wilkins created the charts based on the Spanish map of JFI. You are so clever, so tell us who created them and where is the island? Answers on a postcard, please. If you get stuck, have a look at 'Anson's Gold', it's all there 😇 Nobody is interested in your boring waffle about letters. The only thing that matters is the numbers on the Key chart. No amount of letters can change those figures, which clearly, by so many clues, all decode out to 138 and 19, all clear in black and white, you can't change it, and did I mention 'I didn't make any of it up!' All Wilkins work, based on the original Anson/Spanish information, he was a clever devil. Nothing you can say or waffle on about can change it.

Well you certainly have never been working in any institution handling secrets. The paper trail is really mind blowing. Especially because it is secret so only few will know it it needs to be recorded or else those kind of projects go out of hand. If you think a secret agents work is drinking cocktails, shooting your gun and sleeping with hot models then better as I suggested stick to fiction. As much as they hate it paperwork is the biggest part of the job for most of them. So yes there must be some reference, some trail somewhere. Or it is simply a construct in your mind which for all what it's worth is the most probable solution.

None of what you say alters anything.

None of what you say alters anything.
Exactly, arguments don't matter so the expectation that something moves forward is nil. -

In other words: it truly is groundhog day all over again.

Secret does not mean no references, it means you restrict who has access to the information.

I worked for AirForce Intelligence having the highest security clearance you could have at the time including access to operational conventional and nuclear war plans as well as crypto. (Top Secret SIOP-ESI).

There was still a long paper trail.
