A couple things about Mr. Mitchell: He was involved in MOEL and the stone maps, but he was also an author and published a book in the early 60's. MOEL was oil/gas leases and investor issues not land grab sorry.
"The first reference to Travis Tumlinson's stones as the Peralta Stone Maps was made by Clarence Mitchell (Travis Marlowe) in his 1965 book Superstition Treasures. I don't know why he put the Peralta name with them but it stuck and they became "assumed" to be of Peralta origin..." This is also from Matthew Roberts, The Lost Dutchman Mine, Both sides of the Stone Maps Arguement.
Now I'm just sharing info here that I've found so again, do your own research. But if a man wants to sell some books, a "bogus" intaligo which just happened to be created right before his book comes out, might help in said sales don't you think? Also, if the maps creator is gone and the other player involved is getting ill/on in years I can see how a man might think there's no one left to tell the true story of the stones.

I have done zero research on the stone maps. Ill even quantify my ignorance. Here's what I know about the stone maps: a) what Frank told me, 4) what I remember from Bob's book.
Otherwise, Ive not much looked at them.

Sorry I don't and can't say I've read it anywhere that I remember. However, I have not a reason to look for it till now. But Mr. Tumlinson was looking in Hewitt Canyon from what I've read so far.

The priest on the one map indicates the map was made after Travis carved the priest horse stone. I have a large collection of Superstition maps and only 4 lead to something. All old mines or placer gold deposits. There is no doubt in my mind the map stones were made using the Peg Leg map for reference by Travis. The Peg Leg map led me to some old silver mines and placer in the Hewitt area. Woody and I uncovered a old silver mine that was hidden at the end of the stone map trail. Believe what you like about the stones trail maps. As far as I know I'm the only one that can show gold and old silver mines after using them. That's good enough for me." I find this very interesting not only because he puts the maps in the same Hewitt area but he also has found gold/silver to prove it! He was using a map by Mr. Tumlinson's grandfather Peg Leg Tumlinson.

Yeah thats Frank. He's driven me around there if it's the spot Im thinking of.

I didnt know all that about any stone maps leading him there, but I think I know the area.

See my last video? That's Hewitt Canyon.
Hewitt forms the bottom of the horses face/muzzle/snout/jaw/whatever on the horse map. I think its Whitlow that forms the top, if I remember right.

I've noticed this, too. There have been some really good threads, with hundreds and even thousands of views, but very few comments. I guess you should do it because you like it, and there might be one new member who reads your thread and contributes something of importance.

mdog is right. "Members" can help the discussion move ahead, possibly benefitting all involved. "Guests"? They may just be curious TH surfers who then move on to YT music videos, or, interestingly, very serious lurkers who are mining your posts for real stuff.

Its the lurker one that bothers me. Im putting in a lot of work over here and I feel like Im giving all my progress away. Lol..... but,...didn't I learn a lot from people who were willing to talk about and "give away" their research on here? Present company included.

Im not going anywhere. Im just obnoxious and a bear poker and I was trying to poke the proverbial bear, if it was there. Seeing that many people read my posts, every single time, especially at 11:30 pm AZ time makes me think a lot of the lurkers are in my time zone. It was kind of like a "hey stalker, I see you stalking. Stop stalking and participate." Lurker might have been a more appropriate word to use.

I hope to get younger people interested, but I feel like Im late to the game and the real serious players of the past wont or cant play anymore. Thats kind-of why I havent made a KGC or Reymert video yet. How do I, a video editing amateur, make a video about the KGC or Reymert, loaded with info, that isnt boring to modern audiences? I dont know yet. I dont want to just sit there and talk to the camera. There are already people doing that and I cant make it through most of those videos myself. Boring. My stage stop video was like that and it was boring. So, Im waiting for my editing skills to get a bit better so I can find a way to pull in younger people.

I doubt that you have, or ever will, divulge anything on a public forum that you can't afford to share. We all keep our best cards in an inside vest pocket. It's human nature. That said, you likely will tiptoe around your more proprietary ideas in order to flush out (sorry, couldn't avoid the analogy) new information that may benefit you. Engaged readers may join the discussion and give you more ideas. After all, you're fishing too, and a forum is an exchange.

Your online presence has been positive for those who join the conversation. The lurkers? Maybe some will choose to comment. Otherwise, they're irrelevant to your purpose.
