We just went to Boxcar in Las Vegas bay as we got a late start (1pm).
We normally take the boat to either Cottonwood or Willow. They're currently extending the boat ramp at Hemenway harbor and all the other ramps on the lake are out of the water.
I go through Nipton at least once a week to get to the Mojave Dez areas I like to hunt.

Just looked at Searchlight on the Google maps. I was last there in 1987 when I picked
up my boat before moving up here to Washington. I see the boat storage place is still
operating, and located in the same spot.

The Searchlight Nugget used to sit right on the corner of Nipton Rd. (used be be called
Hwy 14, if I remember right), and I believe that is where Denny's now sits. Prior to that
(back in the '70's) that same casino/cafe was located down the road about where the Senior
Center is now.

Nipton looks like it's still just a whistle stop. Myself, my older brother, my dad, and a friend
of mine spent a week in Searchlight one afternoon, waiting for an alternator to come in by bus
from Vegas. It was hotter than blazes out, and all we could do was sit there....

Now my entrepreneurial spirit is sparked by:

Now I would built a casino and Cafe by the senior's home. I've heard they like to play and eat out.

My daughter's boyfriend gave me this for Christmas. He says it's the best Rum he's ever had. I've never heard of it but I tend towards Irish Whiskey. My wife & I do occasionally have a rum and coke. She likes it better than me. I'll try some tonight as her brother is coming over for dinner and he loves rum.

Warm one today. 26c - 78f at 9am right now. Getting up to 36c - 97f later today.
Gardens hanging in there but we haven't hit the big heats yet, they start next month through to March.
