Good advice. Gotta watch the unflued gas ones too for carbon monoxide poisoning.
Had one in our last home and hated it. Every year in winter sees about half a dozen to a dozen deaths as a result of them. Illegal to sell and fit now but still hundreds of thousands out there in homes.

Still boring weather here. 30'sF to low 40sF, some clouds, some sunshine, ground still frozen. No percipitation. It has been about 3 weeks now without rain or snow.

Yeah they come typically in ships ballast. When the ship empties its ballast after filling it in a foreign water and then dumps some elsewhere for balance, whatever got picked up gets released there inadvertently. They can also arrive on the hull of a ship. It only takes 1 as they can reproduce themselves.
