We here in the bush get "turn everything off for 2 hrs and get $10 credit on your bill" messages during these mad crazy heatwaves.
So here we are in 40 to 47 c heat, 104 - 116f, whilst the other parts of the state where most people live, near the coastal areas, are having 24 - 33c, 74 - 91f.
Turn our air con and fans off in that heat is insanity! Lets see, a heatwave is starting and we see Govt adds on TV warning people to "stay cool, keep hydrated, if you have no cooling consider visiting a shopping mall during the peak heat, don't forget your pets and bring them inside with you to stay cool, remember heat stroke can kill". So the power company asks us to turn the power to everything off whilst the Govt says to use your fans and air cons to stay cool and safe in the heat!
Meanwhile the Melbournians and Geelongites get to join in the fun of getting money shaved off of their bills, whilst turning anything off up here just isn't an option and is in fact the direct opposite to how our Govt tells us to stay well in extreme heat!

The reality is this so called renewable energy grid we have after the closing of most of our coal powered generators cannot cope with peak demand during heatwave events. We actually have our power cut now n then for several hrs as the grid gets overloaded. Its called "power sharing". It can't cope so they offer money to shut down your power.
Its a total failure as it is and we haven't shut the entire coal powered generators down yet.

Speaking of "smart electrical meters",(here), let me tell you about an experiment I did recently.

My temp was at 49f all day long. With the heat turned off.

So, I turned it on and set it for 48. So, when it got down to 48 it could come on.

Just mins later, it was down to 48.

So, I turned down to 47.
Same thing, mins later, down to 47.

So I set it down to 40!

Mins later ? It went *up* to 50!!

Smart alright! For them!!

Anyone who has a "Smart" meter? Try this experiment yourself. Let us know how it worked.

No treasure for me today. Bought a new fish finder and took it out on the lake to try it out.
Worked great, showed me the depth and where all the fish were hanging out. Now I need a device that makes them hungry.

I spoke to my psychologist today and she asked how I was getting on with my imaginary friends. I told her "huh, imaginary? "oh my Viking buddy, the Pepper man, the guy that looks like an Arrow head, and some guy that gets Dizzy? Yes surfing pirates, people that look like dogs and various other animals and objects....😀....Yes we all get together on an imaginary Pirate ship and make fun of each other!" 😀
I came too several hrs later with a drip in my arm. 🫤

Love my fishing. I do breed my own Euro Nightcrawlers.
These things are bullet proof in our climate.
I keep them in an above ground 2 layer small worm farm. They live in detoxified and de salted coconut fibre. Buy ones, the fibre blocks, with no guarantees of treatment and watch the worms disappear overnight.
I feed mine on powdered oats, powdered polenta, they come small grains but I put them into a ninja blender to reduce the size even more. Typically many freshwater fish strangely like stupid flavors. Corn, chicken, aniseed, garlic and others.
Mine I initially fed Polenta which is corn meal, Oats and mushroom skins and stems. They demolish it all. Im about to introduce star anise powder after another older guy I met told me about adding it. I had used aniseed seed scented soft plastics, my everytime go to lure, with good results but the idea of adding aniseed to my worm farm had crossed my mind but I just forgot about it. But seeing pictures from this older guys phone who said his feeding way was very much like mine but with star anise added, and he lives on the Murray River and wins competitions regularly, attributing it to the added aniseed flavour. Im in feeding mine now and waiting for May to try this out when our fishing weather starts.
An idea maybe for where you are to try.

Do they sell WD-40 in Australia? If so, get yourself a can and the next time
you're out fishing give your lure a good spray before you cast.

#9 and #13 ?? I'm not sure what these are.....they might be I'd plates for coast guard boats under 40 ft. Still studying.....these might be pretty early. I dont know what they mean yet. Dug them on my after work hunt today.
