Good morning everyone.

We went through Uranus, Missouri yesterday. Tourist trap place on Route 66. Irreverent for sure, but pretty neat. We've been through it a few times, including when they were just getting started. They've been there ten years now, and from all indications, doing pretty well. They've got a lot of private label merchandise now, including wine and moonshine. Picked up a jug because I thought the old timey labeling was cool. (click for larger view)

And speaking of such things ... what's the preference for posting images? Not just in this thread, but in general. If I post as thumbnails you have to click, it seems an annoyance to have to click something, but on the other hand, if I post as full image, it seems an annoyance to have the whole image right there "in your face" if you didn't want to see it. (This is particularly an issue when posting newspaper clippings in my bottle postings.). Which do people generally prefer?

That's awesome...especially the third pic.

Hate to ask, but I'm nosy...what did that jug set you back? I'm not a drinker
(any more) but a shot of that every now and then would be sweet, for sure.

My Mrs. has some serious rheumatoid arthritis, and there are days when she can't
even pick up a bowl or stand for more than a minute or two without a lot of pain.
So, unless one of her caregivers is here, I am her designated "gopher", meaning
"spare a little time" no longer matters much. I'm on-call 24/7, essentially, and happy
to be so in order to take good care of my Queen.

I'm hoping to find a caregiver that can stay with her 24/7 for a week, as that way I
can escape down to Nevada and have some fun chasing nuggets and goodies...

I have 3 of them, cleaned a bit appears to be brass colored. Most of the lamps/shades/sockets and art deco stuff seems to be from the 30's. I need to quit bringing home stuff ! The lady that gave me this stuff said she has a storage unit full. I can have it she said as she got the storage unit when she bought the house... how that works I'm not sure.

Yesterday I stopped in got the ears lowered. I had to turn around in the grocery/thrift store lot.
Thought gee lived up in the area for 13 yrs never stopped in.
Bought this gold wash stuff for $12.00.
In the lot were 3 pairs of 14Kt earrings.
9.9864 grams or $1174.00
Having a great weekend of getting free unexpected profit.

I'm pleased to get a picture posted in any manner.
So I don't object to how any one else posts one.
Clicking on a thumbnail is no big deal in exchange for a picture though.

Trust no one. Get a nanny (spy type inside something) camera in the house. Or two. Or three.

I try to offer encouragement on rough days. Like when a slow shuffle approaching the truck to get in seems top speed I'll suggest loudly , "run and jump!"

About a week ago leaving a restaurant it was a lot of ice and snow.
Old timer ahead of us with a cane was in low gear too.
Timing being important ; I waited until he was facing having to get in his truck before loudly suggesting we all go play on the ice . He seemed enthusiastic enough but I suspect he'd have tired quickly.
He couldn't catch me anyways. An important consideration before encouraging arthritic people too much. Unless of course you too are not exactly fast. Beware though sometimes they just wait for you to come back before striking you .. And be doubly cautious should you fall asleep!.

I would probably say a drier climate might benefit the body more than the damp chilling cold that you seem to have a lot of the time.
Your Mrs should also get her Vitamin D levels checked, often folks that suffer from RA can low levels and there's good research in taking a daily supplement can help reduce the RA symptoms.

I agree on the drier climate, but to move now would be most difficult. I'd love
nothing more than to move down to N. Nevada, but that would be too far away
from the daughters and grandkids, especially with Jenny fighting the cancer. That,
and she'd have to find a whole new pile of doctors. Reno? Maybe, but it's expensive
there, and we both hate cities and refuse to live somewhere that the neighbors
house is 20' from ours. The drier climate would definitely be of benefit to my
worn out lungs, as well.

As for the Vit. D, we both take it daily. This time of year, even if the Sun is shining,
we get very little of it as it's far to the South and there's a pile of 150'+ Cedar trees
in the way.

I'm blessed in that she has no issues at all with me spending time down in Nevada

My Mrs has even bought herself a new piece of luggage to go to a sandy beach next winter to get away. Problem is I can't fly so it's no go for an Island get-a-way unless she can hook up with another like minded woman.
