Just curious -- were those two pictures from the same spot, just looking in opposite directions?

No the inland pic is from this area, a bit of history. about 5 miles inland from the coast.

A Curry County, Oregon ghost town. Carpenterville, Oregon was and is located on Oregon Route 255 about half way between Brookings and Gold Beach. Route 255 was actually the Oregon Coast Highway before the construction of the new Highway 101 following much closer to the ocean. the closest crossroad is Bull Gulch Road, a dirt road filled with grass to tall to safely navigate without danger of causing a fire, and I believe may access a ranch owned by the Carpenter family. The USGS still classifies Carpenterville as a populated area.
D.W. Carpenter and family settled the community in 1921, they ran a sawmill in the locality. A Post Office was established in 1932 and named for the Carpenter Family. By 1940 the population was 35 residents. When Route 255 was still the main coast highway Carpenterville had a public school, a store, tourist cabins, and the"Skyline Lodge and Restaurant." The new highway was built and by 1990 there was only one house left. As I understand members of the Carpenter family still live and work this absolutely beautiful area. we gathered photos of the local scenery and the beautiful Route 255. The historic photos were donated to this post by a local historian , Dena Nickell, who grew up close to Carpenterville and picked up the family mail at the post office.

Gas price nearly $10/g downtown Los Angeles. If Trump's Monday night deadline passes without a positive response from Iran, what would stop gas from going into the 'teens' by the end of April--or before? And like a virus, price hikes will move across the entire country; though probably not as high as California's prices--due to our massive gasoline tax already in place.

Looks home built, but it also looks like it'll do the job..

They will be conversation pieces and/or yard art. After using Gold Hog matting, sluice legs in the streams and the Gold Cube... the modern mining tech is the way to go !
