For comparison, later record hauls in the 1970s pushed closer to 670,000 lbs, but those often used more complex setups. This one stands out because it was done with a single, straightforward rig, pushing the limits of its time. No computers. No modern engineering tools. Just raw timber, steel, and skill.

That is just amazing....the images sure look original (and I believe they are) but the
tires aren't even squatting the tiniest bit.

As for "pushing the limits", yeah, no doubt. I'd hate to have that load going
down a grade...there would be little chance of stopping it.

Yes it's Monday already and it seems that I'm not ready.
Having a newly met old scrapper coming over to sell his copper wire.
I know what I can get for it but the quantity has to be on the upside to pay for hauling it to Toronto.
But it does pay for the gas at least pulling the dump trailer.

I see ducks swimming on the bay this morning-well sitting on the edge of the ice pack.

Warm and rain .
Streak of rain days. Looking forward to peeking for mushrooms if things play out right later in the week.
Yesterdays wind gifted a lot of leaves yesterday. Ah well.
The white oaks keep theirs through winter right up until they bud in spring often.
Just waiting until you think leaves aren't the yardwork topic for a moment.

My sister gave me this Amaryllis about 15 years ago in a pot. I planted it in the yard about 5 years ago. It blooms every year around this time. I lost her almost 2 years ago and this is a nice reminder of her everytime it blooms.

Yesterday hunt lasted 10 minutes. In the clouds at 6000 feet the rain/snow blowing sideways at 40mph. I need better gloves my fingers we freezing 🥶

Been a busy day, guy brought the copper, then called and wants to play the same game tomorrow morning.
I'm loaded up for the scrap run after I getting the extra 300 lbs in the morning I'm off to the scrap yard.
55 mile drive is better than a 220 mile drive.
I'll fill up the truck at the Rez. and few gerry cans.
