Luckily around here homes are not that old, not like the mansions you have back there with 12-14 foot ceilings. I'm guessing to maintain classical architectural proportions.
I have installed a few interior "hidden" room doors 8 feet tall. My place has one ! The hidden room has it's own electrical separate from the main house and a trap door going under the home.

The homes I'm talking about here where I live aren't old antebellum homes, all of these are new homes I'm referring to and are in private communities for the most part and sell for millions of dollars, but yes they all have at least 10ft or taller ceilings, these are homes for wealthy people for the most part, many are also retired.

There are a few "regular" homes being built around here as well for retirees that aren't as rich as most are, but even these homes are selling for $600,000 or more.

Tomato plant haircutting morning again.
Crazy growth this year with all the wet weather and cooler temps.
Note to self-plant further than 2.5 ft apart because these now have 3-4 ft branches.
Tbar trellis is needed to keep them up as they're still growing.

I have the same problem. What used to be a wide path between rows is now covered in tomato vines. It's crazy how much they're growing (and producing).

They're just starting to ripen here now.
Looking at the 2 week forecast we might have a chance for some consistent 🌞 starting next week.

They started ripening the outliers a week ago or so, just starting to hit that "gotta pick 'em every day or two" stride now. Lots of canning to do. On variety I got an Amish store is making monster tomatoes nearly 2 lbs each. Very meaty. I think I better save some seeds.
