I hope i am not offending anyone by starting this thread.
I am just started gold prospecting last year with my son. Man, did i catch a fever.
I have only been out panning 4 times. The places i have been are Bear River, Mineral Bar, Yankees Jim and Roaring Camp.
I now have a BGT and a Gold-N-Sand hand dredge that i can't wait to try out.
I would love to meet up with the people here on TN.
If one of these places would work for a Saturday group outing or if someone else knows of a good place please yell out ( no hot spots or personal spots are expected ) just a good open public spot.
Lets figure out if Jan 25th or Feb 8th works out for most , including the Bazooka crew.

Mineral Bar 1-25-14.webpAufisher.webpThe Unofficial TN Day on the River get together went great. Got to meet Lookin4gold, Norcalsteve and Aufisher. These guys are great and everyone had a good time working the river and getting gold. Here is a shot of Aufisher working the pan and my take for the day. We will try to have another one next month for any that would like to go.

Looks good GM! congrats... Sorry I couldnt stay, wife needed some help with the baby. The place I was digging was pretty decent, but spent a lot of time trying to get the right flow/angle on the sluice and test pannin some other areas around there.... Glad you guys had fun down the river! :)

Aufisher thanks for all the help today in putting me on the gold and for being there in the dicey parts of the hike. (no fourty foot tumbles into the river ). Hope we get together again soon for another outing.

Thanks again Mojo! I would still be at the bottom of that 8 ft. Ledge if it wasn't for you!

Great pics and awesome gold, glad to hear you fellas had a successful trip, alway nice to meet good people and bring home some new gold!:icon_thumleft:

wish I had read this sooner-- thinking about trying that area Sunday. Let me know about the next trip!

Some great Pic's ! Wish I would have made it out w/ you guy's. Count me in for the next trip....

I hope norcalsteve got some good color in his bazooka for the first time and had a safe trip back home?...

Not to mention thanks to NorCalSteve for initially setting up the outing... Thanks Steve! lookin forward to the next one :)

I did make it home. It was great meeting Aufisher, Goldenmojo & Looking4goaled. The weather was incredible for January.
I love my bazooka! It took awhile to get it set up and I don't know if it was fully dialed in right ( angle and correct water flow ) as I had to continually push the rocks off the end with my shovel. But not classifying saved so much time and not to mention my back. I found a large boulder close to where I set up the BGT and I was sure there was a nugget or picker with my name on it under it. I think with all the digging I did that I just missed it by no more than an inch or maybe two. Lol
Its out there and I will find it ( and his big brother ). My phone will not post the pic I took of the gold i did find. Its probably just me. As soon as I figure that out I will post it. Thanks to the guys that were there and hopefully more days in the river will follow.
P.S. your welcome Mike.

I guess the pic did load. It kept telling me that I crashed the application and did not load.

Nice looking gold norcalsteve, good work! Awesome you got the bazooka in the water and caught some color, by the looks of it you had the bgt running just fine! Glad you had a good trip
