Tragic Fire on Jan. 16th Updated info on Jan 21st

Re: My worst find.. A family tradgedy. Please read. I hope this never happens to you

I am SO sorry to hear about this! Thank God that your family is OK and I hope that the other cat is found safe! As everyone else has said, material things can be replaced hard as that seems at the moment. If anyone takes up a collection or anything please post the address on this thread where we can send something. We couldn't do much as we're not in fantastic financial shape ourselves but we would do what we can and send something. This was a terrible tragedy but again, Thank God not as bad as it could have been.

Hang in there, you will all be fine in time...
Bill

sorry for their loss...
having lost everything to a fire, i can relate...
nothing like standing out in the street seeing a black smudge and rubble from your home...then realizing all you own is what you are wearing.

thank god they are alive. fire is indiscriminate, it eats everything.

Well what really amazed me is that they bulldozed the house. You aren't taught that move in the academy I promise you that. I can understand a fire that doesn't want to go out, but You don't take a bulldozer to the house just because it is hard to go out. Those are people's belongings inside that house. We as Firefighters are suppose to protect and try to save as much as possible. I am very sorry for your son's loss. I am just glad that they made it out ok. The animals will come back. I will keep them in my prayers.

DITTO!! :icon_scratch:

Thank goodness no one was hurt physically. I'll keep you guys in my prayers.(and the cats)

I really hate to hear of it -- but the folks are safe --thats the important thing --the cat will most likely wonder back after a bit -- the loss of belongings while painful can for the most part generally be replaced * -- hopefully they had insurance (of course insurance tends to lowball the lost items worth and theres always a few "special" things that can't be replaced sadly) -- may god bless them and provide a way to help them thru these tough times.

Just got back in to warm up,.............. Great news. We found the other cat hiding in the rubble. I now believe cats do have 9 lives. Amazing. Simply amazing. These 2 cats survived all of that. I can't thank God and you wonderful people enough. Talk later tonight. Ron

Re: My worst find.. A family tradgedy. Please read. I hope this never happens to you

Sorry to hear of your families loss, possessions can be replaced. A lot of Fire Departments now have contingency funds (aka $100 Walmart gift cards) for occasions like this where people lose everything I know its a big thing in Michigan ( My Wife and Mom know people who do this there).
Our prayers are with you and your family, glad no one was hurt..

Ron,
I'm so sorry to hear about this tragedy, it was a beautiful home. As has been said before, "things" can be replaced. It was such a blessing that there was no loss of life. You and your family will be in my prayers. Steve

Ron,

Very tragic news. I'm so glad everybody is well (and the cats, too)! You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Nobody knows why these things happen, but when they do, it really shows how much everybody cares. I hope all turns out well.

Take care,

Dr. Ace

Re: My worst find.. A family tradgedy. Please read. I hope this never happens to you

I want to thank everyone so far on the encouragement and thoughts and prayers. We all seem to think it just happens to the other guy and never me. We take things in life for granted. I know I am good for doing this. Today while digging, a young girl who lived across the street came over and said she was so and so on the high school committee (I can't think of the exact name) student council and that the new school here in town that was just built was going to do a school wide fund drive to raise money and other item's in need. I like to have passed out ::) People just driving by were stopping and ask if we needed help. It's amazing all of the good that's still out there despite these trying economic times. I have been re-enlightened :icon_sunny: I'll keep you members up to date as things progress. I'm really kind of embarrassed to have put this on here. I don't mean to sound like a begger or whatever. These 2 young adults have lost almost everything. Please don't take this the wrong way. If you want and can......... whatever will greatly appreciated. Ron

Re: My worst find.. A family tradgedy. Please read. I hope this never happens to you

So sorry to hear about your sons loss...I too had a house lost by fire when the kids were small and know how devasting it can be. I am happy that your family is safe and sound with you . Usually the insurance company will kick in right away on situations like this and often will give an advance so that they can get emergency items.
Hope you are able to recover some items and glad tosee the cats were found . We will keep everyone in our prayers.
