Treasure Clue, can you help?

I can't see the "A Hill In NJ" on the tree branch on P. 19 above Zac and Pook. Is it in Morse code?

"A HILL IN NH" is in light green (kinda fat and fuzzy) lettering on the darker green tree.

Did anyone notice that the arrangement of tools at the bottom of page 19 is the same (well almost the same) arrangement of tools on the left side but they are rotated by degrees clockwise.

OK, now I see "A hill in NH." Great eye you have! Thanks.

Has the tree with arms and a face to the left of Zac, also on P. 19, already been discussed?
Its left eye looks like an "A," his nose like a "J" and his right eye is difficult to make out.

I scanned the puzzle into my computer, printed it out, and assembled it. There is no numbers to be found there. It is all letters. I found that one piece is duplicated. It was already in the assembed puzzle and it was seperate. I also see there is one missing.

So now wondering if the missing piece of the puzzle is pertaining to the part of the rhyme that said "for the one that is missing you did not see"? ???

Back to page 19. I finally found "A Hill In NH" and immediately looked onto a similiar fat tree branch in the lower left hand corner and saw what I think is "AD" in the same puffy lettering. The "D" is questionable, though. What does everyone else see?

Hi,
In reference to the hill in NH clue. I do not see it above Zac and Pook's heads, I see something like it to the left of Zac and Pook on a similar green branch, what do you see on that branch? (I can make out "A hill" and some squiggles). Actually, I think that the message continues around the page on those green branches. Could the loations of the branches be directions on a compass point? For instance if you start wher eyou think the message starts (on that green branch), you might go North East from a certain point (I do not know where that point might be, other clues might help with that), then you go to the next branch where the message continues and if it is the one to the left of Pook and Zac, you might go West (assuming that Zac and Pook are the center of the compass and the branches are the arms of the compass). Just a shot in the dark!!!! Also, there is something on the bottom of the blade of the axe above Zac and Pook's heads, it almost looks like the silhoutte of a frog and another animal. It is a little darker than the brown on the bottom of the axe blade. What do you see? I have a mgnifying glass, but it doesn't seem to help. My magnifying glass only magnifies 4 times the size of the image. Doe sanyone have a stronger magnifying glass and does it help?
Let me know what you think. Perhaps you can see things that I am not seeing. If we all continue to help each other, maybe we can solve this...

This is my first post here, and I've really enjoyed and have gained much from all the posts.

Anyhow, I was just wondering if anyone has ever wondered why MS gave us the 4 extra photos and Why THOSE photos? And also on pg39 is a very evident picture of florida but its inverted near the top right hand corner between the R and E. Anyone else notice this?

Me again. Something else that I thought was strange is how OFTEN MS uses horizontal lines (not sure what they're called) to seperate text? I read lots of books and hardly ever see this done. Why did he not just use a comma (,) to serperate the text? Could he want us to focus on the text that is seperated with the lines? HMMMMMMM ??? ???

I think you may have made a mistake
about the secound ant on pg 77
Im not certain but I believe that there is
an ant in the bottom of pg44 right hand
side near the bottom two leaves right at
the stem of mushroom in dark shading
tell me what you think...thankx handgem
for the comment...

Saphire,

I think you may be correct about an ANT being at the bottom of page-44.

I would like to get your opinion about the LEAVES on various pages. I have noticed the same identical OAK leaf as well as the same identical ELM leaf on various pages. Is this coincidence? Or does MS want us to know those pages are related somehow? Also the Fairies are identical too on various pages.

Saphire,

I'm sorry but I just realized something. The DRAGONFLY is on page-44 and I do not think that MS puts 2 bugs on the same page. This is merely my humble opinion. But he didn't for any other bug so I am suddenly skeptical that page-44 has an ANT on it. Sorry saphire. But you may be correct. We are all guessing at this point so who am I to say you are wrong?

Page 36 appears to have letters hidden amongst the fairies. In the upper left corner, the fairy below the green tree branch has her knees folded up under her and if you turn the book, her knees are the letter "B". Below that, you will see the three fairies with the brown hair. The two bottom fairies have a lower case "r" wedged between their hair. There are more, but I am still looking!

The instructions say, "The simple clues
don't need any special knowledge to decipher. Anyone
who can read can discover the exact location of each
treasure..."

Are we making this more difficult than it really is?

Also, is there a difference in a First Print and a Second Print book? Because I am NOT seeing the caterpillar on page 39 at all, or the ant on page 77. On page 39 I see at the bottom of the page at the center of the book where it is bound something that starts to look like a caterpillar but then the image is cut by the binding. I have also heard that the leaves on that page are part of the caterpillar, but I don't see how.

Anyway, just wondering... hope others are doing better!

On page 39, that is the caterpillar that you are seeing. His head is almost going into the binding and is hard to see, but his little feet are right there, as is the shape of his body and head. It completely matches the mate on page 22. Now, the ant is very difficult to see, but if you look at the ant jewel in the back of the book, it has 3 segments, the head, and two body parts. On page 77, if you turn the book upside down, you can see the only solid white dot in the middle of all of the "squiggles". That is his eye. His antennae curl up and over into the squiggles. The body sections are there, too. A very abstract ant, but agreed upon on all of the web sites I have followed related to this book. Also, there does not seem to be any differences between the books printed at first and subsequent printings.

I am also wondering about the possibility that different editions have slightly different messages (or clues). For example, my book is a First Edition, SECOND printing. On pages 20-21, the CLEAR message along the bottom is: TReASURes Tweleve foR ou To Keep. (There is absolutely NO chance there is a "Y" or "y" in the word "You", as seen by others...NO downward stroke is/was there at all!) There have been other small differences in messages that I have noticed as I have read this and other forums. Does anyone else have the same edition I do, and if so, can you comment? If there truly is a difference, my guess is that these clues are not significant or at least not imperative to the solving of the puzzle; after having met MS I doubt he would knowingly do anything unethical.
