Well, have this computer working where I can use it but do not have my bookmarks, emails, pics, etc.I plugged the old unit in,offline, and McAfee said it had found the trojan and corrected it but I don't want to take a chance on putting it online to transfer stuff and don't know how to download discs and such.I'll have to wait for Lance to get home to get all my stuff off of it and onto this unit.Everyone needs a good excuse to buy a new computer, right? :coffee2:

WSD,

That's kinda like buying a new car cause it needs washing!! Makes sense to me! ( typical man reasoning ) :laughing7:

You noticed I was driving a blue Corrola now instead of the red?

I have caught a few "diseases" by just opening threads recommended by Tnet members. I am really careful about that now. One of the germs I caught was disguising itself as my spyware program and the more I tried to kill it, I was just adding to the fire! Now I'm just sloooooow and can't figure out why. I dimped alot of unnecessary programs and ran my antispyware and so forth several times.Oh, it helps at firt, but it still seems to slow down gradually. So, who knows why? Monty

Looks like Archery season for White-tail deer runs from Oct 2 to Nov 5, so it would overlap the time frame.
But a real problem could be "Special Season" for hunters 16 and under using ANY LEGAL WEAPON being Oct 30-31!!!

http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/huntwild/hunt/season/county_listing/details/?county=Uvalde

the days of the hunt are the opening weekend here for bow season,

Still

WSD I'll be there unless God has other plans add me to the list and thanks for setting it up

As always, I'm in for any time period!!
Traveling out of Tallahassee here I'll just rent a vehicle to save wear and tear on my personal autos and so we can take a few folks with us and/or pick a few up on the way........... Last time Bobby and I were stylin' in a rental car on the way to Uvalde...........

But we might need to pick up something a little bigger if we have more co-travelers!!

The Uvalde rental wasn't quite as nice as the one we got for CTH3 tho................

I still wish I woulda got pictures of us driving it thru the fields out there at Caldwell, but HERTZ might not have thought it was as amusing as I did........ :laughing9: I kept telling Bobby we needed to wash all the dust and dirt off, but he kept saying "it's gonna rain before you have to turn it in." and sure enuf it did! I snapped the pic AFTER it was cleaned off!

And I'll make sure I drag Bobby along to Uvalde, even if I have to kidnap him, cause it wouldn't be the same w/o the entire SixPack there!! Besides, he's the guy who knows how to arrange some serious diggin' when need be!!

Before I set a specific date(week),would either the last of September or middle of Oct be ok with everyone?Preference?

what ever works for you works for me

OK - no more foolin' around.Right now the firm date is as stated,16 - 23 Oct.That's settled then, unless it changes.

Recommended campsite is, http://www.chalkbluffpark.com/accommodations.html
They have tent/cabins,etc.Off-season rates start on 15 Oct.It's 15mi from Uvalde on the Nueces river.
On the accommodations site, click up above for campsites.Once it is decided how many are going to camp, you can try and negotiate a better rate.
Concan,Tx is the next(you can google it) but it is 25mi and probably costs more.Whatever you decide.
Where we(sixpack)stayed in uvalde is right now $71.If we get 4-6 rooms we might be able to negotiate that down also.
I believe the campsites at Chaulk Bluff do have restrooms/shower/firepit/picnic tables?
The cabins and duplexes seem to have fridge/microwave/stove/ac.
Check it all out.

I figure we will hunt Manza's(30 acres) on the 16/17 and maybe the 18th and then go to Justin's(60acres) for whatever much time or days.If that doesn't take all week, even with the arrowhead/artifacts hunting),we'll find another place.Since the campground is on the river,it might prove to be good also and being off-season,probably no one else around.

Ed just sent me another camping/lodging place.Their website is a little old and I couldn't reach them on the phone. They have boat rentals/fishing also. Some of you may want to check them out also and let us know.

I'm STILL in!
Baggins

BTW,at the Chaulk Bluff site, she told me that a $40 each tent, deposit was required ahead of time. She thought no matter how many tents, everyone should be in the same general area and no problem with a fire in the pit and singin' and whatever.

Steve I guess the dove hunt is out. I am informed that you have to hire an outfitter if you want to hunt doves as no one down there has issued an invite. No one else showed interest except the two of us so I guess I could live without it. I seldom get the chance to limber up the old shooting irons since my sons are grown and gone and I was just thinking it would be an opportunity. There is very little public land in Texas unlike here where there are thousands of acres set aside for hunting and wildlife management. Monty
