Hello all fellow enthusiasts! Who am I? WOW, at present I am dedicated to learning, expanding my knowledge. When I was in my teens I knew everything!8-) only to find out I knew nothing.:BangHead: I enjoy the great outdoors and spend as much time as possible exploring. I found my first artifact when I was five years old and got hook, and have been looking ever since. For me it has been all about the find, but the search to the means is what it all about. There is not a better feeling then to set out on a theory, a hunch, or a vague reference, and find those killer finds. After 45 years of exploring, I still do not tire of looking and exploring, always saying whats around that next bend. As soon as I grow up, I might know who I am, but for now I am just enjoying the journey. I am glad to be apart of this forum, but have obligations to other sites. I will do my best to be an active member here and give my thoughts on how I see it. I no more enjoy telling someone what they have found, is just a rock, but will not sugar coat it. I will also revel in the awesome finds and enjoy seeing finds around the states and beyond.

Good hunting to all!

Welcome to tnet! Good to see another head hunter chase! Maybe you could show us some of your collection. Good luck out there. We got a lot of good guys out there.

You look too young to be 50 chase. Nice MD you have.

Welcome chase2! What state are you in?

Well Rock, that pic was taken 5 years ago:icon_scratch: I have a lot more gray in the ole beard. I got my MD for one reason and it has paid off in a big way one of the best investments I have made.

Old Digger, currently I am in the mountains of Colorado. But I have had the fortune of traveling the States for work, and finding artifacts all across the country. I even have a few sites in Montana.:hello:

Hi everyone,
My name is Rick, and I am in the Charlotte, NC area. I did some artifact hunting a few years ago on a spot close by home, and became hooked immediately. There is something thrilling about pulling a piece of stone from the earth that has lain unseen for hundreds or thousands of years. It gives me a sense of connection to the land, and to our history. All of my finds to date have come from within the city limits, which I think is remarkable. I am a neophyte when it comes to typology and dating of artifacts, but I am learning more every day, and this place is a wealth of information. I hope I can contribute to the board, and educate myself at the same time. If anyone is in the area and wants to get together for a hunt, or to examine collections and trade ideas, please let me know.

Welcome to the site and glad you joined us. Many sites are where the cities are. It was just perfect in location and everyone recognized that. We have mounds along many highways and much be covered every day. The little creeks that run thru a major city can hold a lot of artifacts missed by everyone. Good hunters in your area,. Dive in and have fun

Welcome aboard and Happy Hunting

Hard work, Steve. This is going to be pretty when it's finished, love the looks of the hand split cedar. Glad your temps are much lower than ours, I just don't know how some roofers do their work. The crew that put my new roof on worked early morns & late afternoons to avoid the extreme heat.

Steve that looks like a steep roof. Is the wood harder to put on than regular shingles?

I know I'm going off topic here, but the bronze casting caught my attention. I tinker around with metal sculpting, and have made a few casting. I generally work with copper and copper/silver alloys. If you find the time I'd like to run a couple technical questions past you. Take care. John
