Hard work, Steve. This is going to be pretty when it's finished, love the looks of the hand split cedar. Glad your temps are much lower than ours, I just don't know how some roofers do their work. The crew that put my new roof on worked early morns & late afternoons to avoid the extreme heat.

thanks river rat
that is inland western red cedar from idaho
these are made from wind fall logs which are 300-500 year old dead logs which have been knocked down by the wind
the makers of these are my friends who do this as a salvage to make a premium product from otherwise unusable logs......
..........at the same time leaving plenty of it lay for the spotted owl habitat
our temps are great now
average about 70 degrees in the day now
thanks for looking

steve

Steve that looks like a steep roof. Is the wood harder to put on than regular shingles?

hey rock thanks for the look
the handsplit cedar takes about 4 times longer than regular but is very satisfying to step back and look at the end result

these grow in the fallen cottonwood trees and man they taste like butter
these are north dakota morrels and imo they are pretty big for morrelsIMG_0038.webp

note that to my right are two big plastic grocery bags full of them......these are the average size...

Thanks guys. Too kind. Tn I would love some flint but I'm still behind on things I need to send out. Steve and Steve are still waiting.

Daughter graduated! One down one to go. I asked her what she wanted and she wanted concert tickets for her and her friends. No problem. Showed up at the grandparents house and there is a car with a bow on it in the driveway. Allways gotta show up dad!

Nice family bist. My daughter has 1 more yr to go.

Thanks. She's a slow starter with driving. Going today to get her permit. Glad she got through this senior year. It was a rough one.

For all who don't know me I've been selling my house since September! Today sold!!!! Took long enough. Can't wait to unpack and see all my rocks that have been gone since then. We move out and into the new house July 31. The exact day we moved into it 12 years ago. Crazy!

Thats Great! Congrats on your home selling.
