Hello folks, many of us have very creative usernames. I thought since I was not doing nothing right now, it would be nice to see why some people chose their usernames on here.

I'll start off.

Many people think that I am from Buffalo, NY. I am not from Buffalo, NY.

I chose this username because when I was a young boy, probrably 5 or 6, my grandfather gave me a few coins, and in them, some dateless buffalo nickels. I thought that the buffalo nickel was the most interesting coin, and I started collecting them.

Needless to say, buffalo nickels with no date are only worth face value, maybe add a penny or two.

The buffalo nickel still remains my favorite coin to collect, plus, who knows what goodies you can find in nickel boxes...

In the nineties I with enthusiasm listened to music in style a Hardcore and Gabba. Then there was "Hakkera's" film with Sandra Bullock. There was a character with a nickname a "cyberbob". I combined the word gabber and ciberbob - and received the nickname :)

аватар250х250флаг.jpg

My avatar is a generalized character.
The wind rose means travel and researches, a circle is a coil of my first Fisher-F2 metalldetector, the shovel means that I am a digger. Letters - make the word RUSSIA. And "V' on a shovel is the first letter of my name.
Background - a flag of my country

:censored:I have great fun with my User Name: Sir Gala Clad as I get to laugh at myself each and every time I sign on.

Like Sir Galahad, who sat on King Arthurs Round table, I too set off with the mighty Excalibur in search of the Holy Grail, but Instead of treasure my findings are mostly coins of clad.

Someday I will achieve full knight hood by finding the gold, platinum, or silver I so desperately seek.

Then and only then will I change my moniker from Sir Gala Clad to Sir Gala Baaad (which means good) or simply as other members refer to me Sir Gala.

Like Miniver Cheevy, I was born late, not of days of old when knights were bold.
But of an era before the cell phone and even the microcomputer, a time of greater privacy and freedom.

This was an era of entitlements and rights, decades before the " Brave New World" we now live in. Then it required a warrant to wire tap telephone conversations as they were on land lines. Since cell phones conversations are transmitted over the airways, anyone can monitor your conversation as you are considered to have given implied consent. Even if you use a private mode to encrypt your conversation(s), it does little good; they have all the encryption keys.

The internet is worse, Anything that has been written on the internet is stored and can be retrieved.
It is best that you do not write anything on it that you are not willing to have documented.

Be aware that every sheet printed by a computer printer or copier can be traced to that device.

From the satellite view on Google map, anyone can see where you live, your car if it is in the driveway, even if your lawn was mowed as well as other vital information when the picture was taken.

Though the above is common knowledge, I am restating it, as even in an Utopian world freedom can be lost if good men or women say nothing, when wronged.

I put great thought and effort in creating the Avatar that best describes me, but it's design required neither knowledge nor effort. " NOTHING" truly represents the way I and countless other seniors are being treated.

In spite of a lifetime of service to country, I have been deprived of my inalienable rights (life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness), which are universal to all mankind. Not because that I did anything wrong, but because it was convenient for them to do so. What is truly sad, is that we now live in a police state, supposedly needed to protect us against the threat of terrorism. Big Brother or Sister are now free to do what He or She wishes because few care enough to object and stand up for what is right. Most are simply too busy or overwhelmed and don't want to be bothered with anything that is inconvenient or not enjoyable.

If any of you know, how to recover properties wrongfully seized by the State and Federal Government(s) and not returned; or of legal / other steps to take to recover/mitigate the irreparable damages done please send me a private message (PM).
Though I will soon put on full metal jousting armor
I will fly neither flag, nor banner in protest.

I am Sir Gala Clad

The avatar is Yukon Cornelius from Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. He's thinks he's in search of silver or gold but he's actually looking for peppermint.

Yo, I'm a famous rapper perhaps you heard of me

Em, I rode an elevator with you in Champaign, IL. I was waiting for the elevator first and politely asked you for an autograph. Sharpie in hand you wouldn't do it.. True story- so to make up for your lost karma I'm gonna need all the Franklins and Walkers you find this year:-)

Nube 250 - I had just bought a Garrett Ace 250 I was new to T-net and Metal Detecting but these days I'm doing a lot more CRH. Still saving up for an Excalibur 2 and a place "Right near the Beach"..

Well, I live in Florida now and there was a TV show on FOX last year named The Finder. That character and I have some similarities, and I joined the forum for the metal detecting so the Finder part was related to treasure hunting.

I was browsing one day after I joined and discovered CRH, and now have been more active with CRH. Thank you to all for the info as with my CRH I am about half way there on my way to paying off the metal detector that I bought in Nov.

Oh, and my avatar is a Peace dollar that I found in a teller tray in Nov.
