Hi everyone, I can finally check this one off the list, i finally dug up my first gold coin, Whoo Whoo!! I was detecting a low tide and the first find was a early 1900s silver Canadian dime, hard to read the date, then found the usual junk for awhile and then dug up my first gold coin, i finally did it. At first sight I thought i dug up one of thoes modern thick euro coins that look like gold coins at first and gets your heart beating but im gladd its not the case this time, its the real deal. Thanks for looking and good luck to everone. Whoo Whoo!!

Congrats on the coin hunters holy grail!

Nice!! What part of BC's coast where you hunting? Close to downtown Vancouver? Maybe in the islands?

A gold coin equals banner in my book congrats

Congrats! Nice coin! Banner!

FANTASTIC!! I voted BANNER!!

Congrats, awesome find!

Hi CoinFetcher, to answer your question, I was hunting a low tide at a beach in the city of Vancouver, B.C Canada. I've found lots of older silver coins that date in the range of the early 1900s in the same area where I found this gold coin. Thanks for the question

The "holy grail" hole-in-one for an md'r hobbyist. Now you can call yourself a true stud ! :occasion14: Congratz.

Sounds like it might be worth checking again before moving on to your next site.

Congratualtions on the Gold coin recovery...Banner! :occasion14:

Way to go , gold coin only in my dreams

Hi dsdigger, after I found the gold coin I rechecked the hole and detected around the area beside the spot where I found the coin for a possible coin spill but I will for sure be going back to this spot for more possible finds, it's far from being hunted out and am looking forward to returning. Thanks

Nice and congratulations. There is lots of history and mystery on this coast. I am a Vancouver Islander myself and will be heading out for day outings for detectoring in the gulf islands in my sailing ship. Willing to take a couple of guys along. PM if interested.

What an awesome find! Big congrats!

That's a great piece of wartime gold. A big congrats. British gold is on my list. Excellent show!
