If you have any numismatic inclinations at all that is. Pulled a nice coin today that's probably worth around $1,000. Paid $8. And got a 40% silver half in that bunch too. :) If you estimate melt on the 40% half and toss in face value for the quarter, dime and cent also in there, you're looking at a net cost of $2.50 for that $1,000 coin. I'm sure some of the more intelligent individuals here will be able to figure out what it is.

I'll get it slabbed, flip it, and buy something nice with the proceeds. Or maybe just add it to my CRH capital. Or maybe just buy a whole bunch of junk silver.

Its a coin with 7 colors send it back to the wild its only worth 50 cents

It's gold or the SVDB. Both I find appalling that a dealer would hand for $8.

Um...a presidential gold $1 coin?...no...wait...um...a politician?

Closest I can come up with would be a 1971 no - s proof nickel in a silver proof set.

That's what I was thinking but where can you get a silver proof set for $8 and I don't even know if they made silver proof sets that year.

Like I said, y'all are hopeless... it's not a key date, it's not precious metal, it's not an error. It is a nickel, and it is dated 1966... Surely someone knows what it is now...

1966 Deep Cameo SMS

I have several SMS from the 60s. Any coin that's cameo in those sets is worth a pretty penny it sounds.

Checking now...

Okay, my SMS are from a postal commemorative set. Probably already cherry picked by whomever assembles these.

I couldn't make out ANY steps on my nickles. And no coin are cameo. The pennies are awesome though. Dep red and some purple.

Big score, any other coins cameo beside the nickle? Photo?

POST THE PICS! I could care less about coins...but your intent is accomplished. Youve sparked us all! Stroke stroke stroke. Post em Biggie

A nickel without the FS?

He didn't mention steps. They are my quick way see strike quality of a coin. I couldn't see my coins very well through the 2 layers of plastic and it was dark

Not sure how this is suppose to fit in CRH...Maybe games and contest forum is a better fit...

1966 Deep Cameo SMS

Nailed it. Solid 67 imho, which makes it a $1k coin. Clean fields, nicely frosted devices and letters. If the mods want to close this, they can... I just wanted to point out to all those people that think CRHing is just about silver that there are coins of tremendous numismatic value to be found out there.

How about a photo?

So what you're telling me is that this coin is expected to sell for around $1000? 1966 SMS JEFFERSON NICKEL..SLABBED MS DEEP CAMEO...RARE COIN | eBay
No. Not in some stupid fly-by-knight slab. I only send coins to PCGS. Here's the last '66 67DCAM in a PCGS slab that HA.com sold... $1,265.
