I saw on another post where bblaha had asked about my best find so I thought I start a thread so everyone could post theirs as well.

That is the most beautiful arrowhead I've ever seen, I'd love to know what you know about it !

Where was it found, what type of material, what type of point is it , how thin is it, how old is it

it is a jaw notch billings from south central North Dakota
the meaning of jaw notched is that the inside of the notch is slightly larger than the entry or outside edge (like a 'cul de sac') if you know what i mean
i am guessing maybe 500 years or less old
i am pretty sure it is made from petrified wood
it was made by the mandan indians
one leg is longer than the other one but is hard to see cuz of the way i am holding it
if i find another one i will send you one sometime
i see you are a new member......where are you from?

i have three other really good points at my office on my desk
if you like this one you will probably like them although they are slightly different

Thanks for all of the info, very interesting.

I'm in Kentucky, I have found a few nice arrowheads over the years by accident when hunting or fishing, but I'm planning to start hunting for them !

Arrowheads and other artifacts are fascinating.

Lots of Native American history in Kentucky.
