3 reel lots in first five pages.
Bidding not to crazy on them yet.
The second encountered lot has a spool case for the 300 Mitchell in the lot probably.
Doesn't say if it contains a spool. Or large or standard capacity spool. Or if a large with the plastic shim to reduce capacity.
The Mitchell had the reel in it when I saw it

:coffee2: :sunny: :coffee2:Good morning everyone. Finally getting some rain. The python hunt is underway in Florida. You can hunt them year round but this is a contest. Winner gets 10 grand. My sister entered it with bad results. This is her in the snake, her granddaughter is saying goodbye.

I heard they are going to release honey badgers in So FL to try and eliminate some snakes. I wonder what unintended consequences that will provide?🤔

The case for a spare spool has a spool in it?
Hey It don't matter. The first pick up at that auction I'd be all corrupted again and living in Florida all the more poorer.. Shipping would probably cost more. Even if the items ever arrived.

I've acquire Mitchell reels cases and spools and the drag adjustment knobs on the 300's vary.
I'm not sure if spools relate as far as changes in specs. I'd have to measure (shudder.)
But the France made adjusters with downward turning "fingers" catch stray line well. (Not sure how but it could be operator related.)

Decided to detect a little in my regular spot before it got dark and messed with some setting on the detector to up my skill a little with my machine. The practice went well a few keeper in the short time and a silver ring not bad for the place I've been to over and over again.
Congrats!

Key is a bottle cap lifter?

Is that the python that won the python hunt?

I watched a couple of clips regarding this fearless creature.
It certainly would be an interesting experiment.
behavior.
Armor:
Honey badgers have thick skin and loose-fitting fur, making them difficult to bite.
Unique Defenses:
They have a strong bite force, can spray a foul odor, and target vulnerable areas like the eyes and genitals.
Potential Outcome:
A wolverine would likely use its superior size and strength to try and overpower the honey badger quickly.
The honey badger would likely resist and try to outlast the wolverine by targeting its vulnerabilities and using its own unique defenses.
In the end, the wolverine's larger size and more powerful bite would likely lead to a victory, but it would not be an easy win.

Mongooses!

they'd want to only release sterile predators.
Or risk compounding the existing invasive species by adding another.

For me the problem is that honey badgers are not going to discriminate and will kill native snakes including those that humans tolerate more.

Then too what if a snake isn't in convenient proximity for an ambitious badger?
Will they be prohibited from areas with gopher turtles for example?

My guess is someone smoked their lunch before proposing introducing another imported predator.
That and/ or the purpose is to bring more attention to....

Back in the late 60s a family moved in next door from the deep wilds of the Yukon.

They decided to relocate after going to get supplies from the city/town.
Upon their return after a nearly a week away they showed us pictures of their log home.

A wolverine had crawled down the stove pipe to get into the log home.
Everything was destroyed by the Wolverine, it was unbelievable what that animal did to the place. Beds, furniture, every cabinet door either ripped off or hanging by a bent hinge.

Refrigerator door was even broken, and anything inside was consumed.
Cans of food chewed open, and consumed.

To add insult to injury it released its scent glands on the entire inside of their home.

It was a right off.
No insurance either, as why would you need insurance really 🤔

Peaceful, serene river setting along Oregon's Siletz River. This house was first just a shell for a movie set. Some years later, it was finished and today looks like this. The movie? "Sometimes a Great Notion" (1970) starring Paul Newman and Henry Fonda. Based on the book by Oregon novelist Ken Kesey who also wrote "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest". The movie portrayed controversies among independent vs. union loggers.

It would be stupid to do that, so knowing some of the stupid things they have done here it wouldn't surprise me. I'm not sure what the Burmese Pythons natural enemies are, but I don't think it's Honey Badgers but could be.
