Finally got this sucker after much frustration
With all the trouble you had getting it, I thought it would be gold and diamond encrusted!

I'm still working on this. Paper work and a few calls to Ireland.... that was interesting!!

It is possible to obtain Irish citizenship through a grandparent born in Ireland. If one of your grandparents was born on the island of Ireland, you can apply to be entered into the Foreign Births Register, which allows you to become an Irish citizen.

Eligibility:
If your grandparent was born in Ireland, you can apply for Irish citizenship through foreign birth registration.
Registration: You'll need to register your birth on the Foreign Births Register, which is maintained by the Department of Foreign Affairs.
Documentation:
You'll need to provide documentation proving your relationship to your Irish-born grandparent, such as their birth certificate and your birth certificate.
No residency requirement:
Unlike naturalization, there is no minimum residency requirement in Ireland to obtain citizenship through foreign birth registration.
Foreign Births Register:
This register is specifically for those who were not born in Ireland but are entitled to Irish citizenship through descent (e.g., through a grandparent).
Passport:
Once registered, you can apply for an Irish passport.
