Agreed. Oddly enough I had a similar experience the last time I had to get my truck inspected. Called and made an appointment (no walk ins). Got there at the appointed time and the place was closed. No warning, no explanation, no reschedule, no "sorry we missed you". Nothing. So I took it to a different place a few days later.

So the reason my boots got holes is cause the upper section is soft sided and my next pair won’t be that type. They were cheaper and now I know why.

There is a proper technique to opening a frozen sliding patio door to let the dogs out.
I don't know what it is .
But the handle is still attached so far.

No luck for me at the beach but my frind did good and I found a 🦀

friend found 925 pendant and a gold ring. It’s missing a stamp, acid tested 14K stone look good. He will get it tested today.

Train the dogs to lay against the sill.
Get a hair dryer
Heat gun
Kettle of boiling water
Use the other door

Dogs aren't allowed there t night.
No other door will suffice due to what is beyond to confine dogs and clean up after them.

Frost is on the outer edges of weatherstripping. And where latch edge of door meets frame. That is far side of insulative material making heating from the inside not transferable in any brief amount of time. IF osmosis transfers enough heat through the material.

Dogs and wheelchair add to snow /ice/water tracked across threshold. Door being open allows escaping heat to heat edge of oof causing melting icicles dripping. Compounding the issue.
Pulling on the handle (this is not the first door or first handle on the same doorwall) isn't the answer. It isn't held on with enough.
Unlocking the latch first does seem to help.
Pushing on door frame mid span on the opposite side than the handle while keeping tension on the handle isn't the worst way to break the ice bond. But that has me leaning forward from a seated position and the chair dancing. Or balance on one leg standing up and stay balanced when the door breaks loose. Ya the chair works better.
Now clean the forehead print off the glass and we're all set.
Colder weather? Use a tool to remove ice from multiple usual areas while door is open and heat escaping melting what ids above it outside.
You can see the track being spread by ice build up on door. And one outside corner ice builds up fastest that will keep door from fully closing. And a gap resulting will create lots more ice lots faster!

Possible to out a heat line along the outside door sill?
Like a eavestrough type. Low wattage. Only needed on the cold event days.

Heat pads like for heating bearings , or wine fermenters between the rubber ramp (3 inch tall where it touches door ) and the synthetic door track/frame maybe.

I can muscle it.
Just have to be the first one up when a dog wants out around dawn. Yesterday was too late, Today was before the same one up first yesterday was on his feet. Well first up to go out. One was on the bed that was literally awake first. l.o.l..

People are getting that darn flu at work. You’re throat feels scratchy then in about 4 hours later you start feeling dizzy then later throwing up. So far I haven’t caught it.

In my part of the world it starts around the time the Moose season opens up-then by the time Deer season opens it's at pandemic levels it seems.
Happens every year-strange when one thinks about it now..
