Metals in the Arts & Crafts movement (roughly 1880–1920) emphasized hand-hammered, functional, and simple designs in copper, brass, and silver, directly countering industrial mass production. Key features included visible tool marks, natural patinas, and organic,, or simple forms, with makers like Dirk van Erp, Gustav Stickley, and the Roycrofters producing items like lamps, vases, and trays.

Fancier than original folk art lamps that were meant to be functional outside lamps.
Of course electrifying such is a crime in some states.

Cool photos MX. Hopefully a new discovery to be found on your next trip. So I have a question... Having visited the deserts of the west very little, your landscape and vegetation is definitely more harsh than ours in certain ways. With that said and seeing that large pinion pine, it made me think about an old story of Pirate tales I once read. It's been said, some pirates would find the oldest and tallest oaks they could spot from sea to mark a hiding spot for treasure, (many here don't know this). So would something like an old pinion tree have been a significant landmark by chance? Or more of something outlasting and stable like a boulder or mountain?

I would imagine that they were all over that area at one time, until gold was discovered there. Anything that would burn was used up quickly. I read a passage in a book that said even the greasewood (creasote) bushes that are so plentiful, were utilized until the desert was as barren as the surface of the moon as far as you could see.

Do ever have people say they're going to do something and they never do?

I'm dealing with a power company that did some damage to our property in 2024.
They want to finish this project.
But they have to fix the broken promises and mend the fences.
I spoke to the regulatory department that issued the license for the power company.

Oh every word is recorded and I was promised to get an email response from them.
Nothing-called again-yes ASAP- Still nothing.
I'm thinking they're talking with the company to get their ducks in a row for the prissy 🌶 🫑.
They haven't seen the real me when I get really peeved.
It seems that folks just like to ignore the person hoping they get tired and they go away.
But they get all panties knotted up if that person gets a tad angry 😡.

They want to finish this project.
But they have to fix the broken promises and mend the fences.
I spoke to the regulatory department that issued the license for the power company.

Oh every word is recorded and I was promised to get an email response from them.
Nothing-called again-yes ASAP- Still nothing.

Eight parties involved? Probably more. And more money than a sane person (whatever that is) should have to pay for someone to do what they are supposed to have done in the first place..

On the way home from one ., no two stops working on resolution....
A place a friend who left state is losing equity on probably after much work on it has a real estate company sign out front. I'm not going to ask him about it.
