That turkeys still exist can be a mystery at times.
Maybe turkey hens step on chicks and stimulate them enough at times...

As a kid it was agreed turkey chicks were not allowed out in the rain because they are so stupid they will look up in a heavy rain and drown.

It's not nice to call animals stupid.
Turkey chicks are stupid!

Like the lady at the feed store said "Have you had turkeys before?"
Yes
"Great! Because Turkeys aren't chickens-they're just stupid"
I agreed and said they do tend to follow you around like a puppy dog when they get older.
"She agreed"
Had them staring at the barn wall for an hour before, I guess they figured the wall would open up so they could get inside.
Have to treat handicaps gently though-"come on guys lets go to the other side of the barn where the door is ok."

Howdy all. Busy morning as I had to head downriver and pick up groceries
and other necessities. Gonna be a gorgeous day....wonder what it's gonna bring.

Three days ago New Mexico experienced tremors ranging from 2.8 to 3.9 on the Richter scale. I felt the 'thump' all the way down here in Luna County.

At certain times earthquakes might impress the lady of the relationship.

Heck when it comes grass eating I'm totally vegetarian. I'll eat it if it ate grass. Pork,beef, turkey, chicken, moose, deer.
I'm better off financially so I can skip the tree rats.

Elk is great ! I have not tried moose, I would also like to try ally gator !

Went to check of the turkey chicks at the end of the day, and found one laying on its back doing the funky chicken away from the heat lamp.

Glad you got him back. We lost one of our little turkey chicks last night. It was the runt of the bunch and hadn't been doing that well for a couple of days, and last night was his last. The other four all seem fine.

I've heard that too, but never seen one doing that. We have lots of wild turkeys that hang out in the yard, and when it rains, they all tend to hunker down under a nearby tree until it passes. Never observed chicks in the rain though, so maybe.

What's funny about that is that our mama turkey's favorite snack is bananas!
