I had to Research.

Grew up eating Kokanee. They were a real favorite eating fish even over a Kamloops Trout.
Averaged 12-14" and under 2 lbs.
Caught them usually trolling with a gang troll of willow leafs, near the surface with 100-150 ft of line.

Dangerous Lake for winds also, long and narrow.

My father used a down rigger of sorts. Copper wire, on a big spool that was on a short thick rod (2x4) looking rig.
Drop it to a depth of 200 ft almost and try for a big Grey Trout, Dolly Varden Trout, or a Kamloops.
Usually a big old Squaw fish would get caught. 🤣

200 feet deep. Swim bladders would be coming out their mouths and eyes popping coming up from those depths. I remember that happening fishing with a mate in a boat at 100 foot.

Good morning, everyone! Sunny day and supposed to get up to 75F today in the Blue Mountains. Join me in a cup of coffee. Okay, I'll confess, I prefer a cup of coffee flavored cream. There, I have said it! :dontknow:

First run of my invention. Fully patented and ready for more testing....they will be passed out at a marlin tournament for everyone to use and evaluate. This tool is designed to be attached to a pole, or used by hand. It combines a detachable fish tagging probe, combined with a line cutting release knife for big game fishing !! Marlin, sailfish, sharks, and other dangerous big game fish!! It also has a trusty bottle opener that doubles as a lure retriever. The cutting blades are standard utility knife blades and easily available unlike other release knives. The ability to attach this to a pole and create distance between the fish and the person is revolutionary for safety factors to the mates and the fish !! Now we gather footage of it in action, and create marketing media !! I will peddle orders and work the ICAST show.

You would have to use a big...ass... reel just for depths of 200 feet!!
The closest lake is a couple hundred miles from me, I like river and ocean fishing a lot not sure about lakes.
These are a lot closer.

Tenmile Lake: Located about 30 minutes from Mill Casino, this lake is renowned for its largemouth bass fishing. Perch and trout can also be caught here.
Empire Lakes: Located about 10 minutes from Mill Casino, these lakes are stocked with trophy-sized trout several times a year.
Middle Empire Lake: A popular spot for rainbow trout, largemouth bass, and yellow perch.
Lower Empire Lake: Another lake known for largemouth bass, rainbow trout, and yellow perch.
Upper Empire Lake: Also known for rainbow trout, largemouth bass, and yellow perch.

If you are having pain in the arch area try to find the hard plastic or fiberglass arch support that fits into your shoes.

British Columbia, Canada has over 20,000 lakes. These lakes range from the well-known Bowron Lakes canoe circuit to countless alpine lakes and long bodies of water in the valleys. The lakes are dispersed throughout various regions, including Northern BC, the Kootenay Rockies.
